DevOps Engineer - Linux, AWS, Terraform

With the increasing pressure on the NHS and backlogged waiting list, this award-winning business is making a real difference to the health and wellbeing of millions across the UK and wider world.  They’ve developed a class-1 certified medical device to provide personalised guidance, support and information to users for free and have huge plans to expand following massive investment.  They’re looking to add a talented DevOps Engineer with strong Linux and AWS experience to their passionate team -an amazing opportunity to work in a role that genuinely helps improve people’s lives.

*The role will be fully remote based, but they’ll be looking for someone based in the South-West of England who can work flexibly with occasional visits (1-2 times a month) to their HQ in London*

What skills you’ll be needing

  • Strong Linux server administration skills.
  • Docker containerisation.
  • AWS administration.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Terraform.
  • Ansible or equivalent.

Any of the following is a bonus

  • Packer
  • Elasticsearch
  • Nginx
  • CircleCI
  • Kubernetes
  • Debug Java logs
  • Knowledge of microservices

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining a super-smart and talented team to look after the environments from development through to production.  You’ll be asked to help maintain maximum security and ensure the total up-time of the company apps and website using the cutting-edge tools at your disposal.  They’ll look for you to manage CI/CD pipelines, configuration and patching/backups, troubleshooting and evaluating and selecting appropriate tech to solve problems and continuously improve the products.  There’s an on-call 1 week in 4 rota (all remote) which will reduce as the team grows and an opportunity to pass on your knowledge and wisdom to junior members of the team.  They need someone passionate about tech who can work well with developers and non-techie people, reacting to changing deadlines and working flexibly with autonomy.
