    — Python, choose your frameworks! Tech4Good start-up

    Location:
    Remote / Bournemouth
    Type:
    Salary:
    £50K - £65K
Well-funded start-up with a focus on mental well-being. 2019 “Rising Star” and 2020 “Best Start-up” winners.  Remote working, progressive tech, lots of autonomy.  I’m helping an award-winning start-up who specialise in intelligent mental well-being products, using cultural analytics to provide an incredibly in-depth overview of human psychology to the community. Their app and platform aggregates masses of data with the use of Tech and AI to create meaningful outputs that will help people better understand their own psychology and how to manage their mental health effectively. With recent investment and ambitious growth planned for this year and beyond, they’re looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to join the team.  Experience you’ll need Full-Stack expertise with a lean towards the server-side. Proven capability with Python and ideally one related framework.  Ability to read PHP code. If you can write in PHP, even better!  Cloud-native development experience, ideally with AWS but Azure/GCP also fine.  Front-End expertise with one modern JS library (React preferred).  Experience working to architecture level, able to own projects from PoC onwards.  Awareness of DevOps, release & deployment process, automation.  Knowledge of testing.  Self-starter, comfortable coming into a fast-paced start-up environment. What you’ll be doing The PoC for their analytics dashboard (built in PHP/Laravel) has been completed, you’ll be heading up the build of the first version, owning the front and back-end before taking it to market. They’d like to move the platform to Python moving forward so you’ll need to be able to read PHP code in order to help with the conversion. The front-end is in a good place though you’ll help with polishing things; the complexities lie in the server-side so you’ll be much more focused on adding new functionality, refining current features and introducing things like custom graphs where necessary. Most of the infrastructure sits on AWS but they use Azure for some areas due to the data insights they need across their clients who work in MS. You’ll be building the core of a modular monolith, working closely with the product team on customer insights and supporting the improvement of their release and deployment process, introducing automation where necessary. This role would suit a back-ender with aspiration to go full-stack, and a self-starter who takes passion for making a real difference with the work they produce.  What you’ll get in return for your talents You’d be joining a start-up who are making a real-life difference to the mental well-being of people everywhere, allowing you to take pride in the work you produce. They’re focused on R&D, will upskill you in the areas you’re not quite as confident and are happy for you to work remotely with an occasional trip to their office in Bournemouth (1-2 times a month). They offer 25 days holiday, £1000 annual training allowance, an employee share scheme, full flexible working, free access to their app, enhanced parental leave, team away days and more. They're also about to introduce a 'flexi-friday' policy where you can focus on deep work, personal development, creative projects or take the day off with no sign off needed! What’s next?
