PHP/Symfony Developer

An ambitious software house in Bath have seen continued success throughout this trying period and are looking to keep growing their tech function by bringing on a back-end focused PHP Developer. The business specialise in enabling businesses to trade and sell their services more efficiently across the NFP sector, offering a rewarding environment and lots of autonomy. 

What experience you’ll need

  • Background in PHP development with experience using Symfony 4+. 
  • Understanding of relational databases (preferably MySQL) and full-text search engines. 
  • Awareness of front-end development (HTML, CSS, jQuery, Bootstrap). 
  • Source code management (Git), build systems (Webpack, Grunt)
  • Experience in Linux environments, exposure to things like Apache/NGINX. 

What you’ll be doing

Joining a small team with lots of control & autonomy over technical direction & strategy, you’ll focus on adding new features & functionalities across their successful product roadmap which is used by a diverse client base. Their business is their product so they want to find someone who can truly be passionate about the work they do with an ability to operate across both front-end and back-end. Other duties will include identifying and implement bug fixes, upholding high code standards whilst maintaining scalability, security and resilience. You'll be helping to deliver high quality SaaS solutions in an AWS environment with minimal downtime. This is a real chance to make your mark within an open-minded, ideas-driven software house where quality is at the heart of their delivery model.
