An award-winning firm of CTA’s who specialise in R&D tax credits are growing with more and more clients asking for their innovative and modern approach driving more requirements into the business, one of those requirements is a Research Associate within technology – someone who has a passion for technology and the industry, but isn’t looking to be a hands-on engineer/programmer giving clients in exciting industries extra funds to spark a new project or create something truly remarkable.

What experience you’ll need

You must have come from a software/digital/tech background, perhaps as a developer working with popular languages such as JavaScript (React, Angular Vue etc), PHP, Java, C# or Python.. or maybe were a tester, or an engineer but no longer coding/hands on, or either looking to move away from it. You will need to be client facing which is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience working with the clients and understanding their needs. As you will be representing the company you need to be a natural communicator, able to write well in order to help create narratives. It is important that you are very much a team player and keep an open mind on how you progress into a specialist role.

What you’ll be doing

As this role will require some training upon starting you will be enrolled on their in-depth R&D training programme – the company are prepared to teach anyone. From there you will be supporting other teams with narrative writing pieces on the client’s technical queries, meeting the client in person with other team members to work their full process and help them understand it. You will help gather requirements; communicate internally with multiple teams and make sure that a high standard of work is carried out in time. You must be willing to work to quarters and be resilient; the company has a very busy period of the year where you may need to go the extra mile, but for the rest of the year you will have early finishes and a relaxed working environment.
