We’re helping an early-stage LabTech start-up to find a Back-End Developer as they look to scale up the team throughout 2022. The business offers a platform that leverages vision data to increase efficiency and productivity in lab-based environments, primarily covering BioTech and Pharmaceuticals with a wider mission of solving real-world challenges faster and more effectively. What experience you’ll need
- Proven experience in a back-end focused role, ideally within a start-up/scale-up.
- Significant knowledge of NodeJS and TypeScript.
- Commercial experience with AWS (EC2, IAM, ALB) and preferably Serverless/Lambda functions.
- Background in data-centric environments, understanding the value of data visualisation/science/engineering.
- Excellent database skills (SQL).
- Previous infrastructure-as-code experience (CloudFormation or similar).
- Ability to build/maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Docker/Kubernetes containerisation skills.
- Any Golang knowledge would be desirable.
- Any experience with video streaming would be useful.
What you’ll be doing
Joining an initially small team with scope to grow, you’ll focus primarily on greenfield project work that supports their core product; an AI Assistant connected to lab environments to increase productivity and efficiency. You’ll take ownership of back-end infrastructure build and maintenance, working closely with the Platform Engineers to ensure the code base is clean and reusable which will support the enhancement of customer experience. There’s also a chance to be involved in building a video streaming tool that provides real-time data insights into lab performance. You’ll follow best practices surrounding data security, involve yourself in wider architectural direction and uphold coding standards for future hires.
