Front-End Developer

— React, NextJS

Bristol / Remote, UK
£40K - £60K
  • Solve real-world challenges through data-led insights.
  • Join a founding team with fantastic progression as the business grows.
  • Progressive tech, control over tech/architectural direction.

We’re helping an early-stage LabTech start-up to find a Front-End Developer as they look to scale up the team throughout 2022. The business offers a platform that leverages vision data to increase efficiency and productivity in lab-based environments, primarily covering BioTech and Pharmaceuticals with a wider mission of solving real-world challenges faster and more effectively. With a successful recent seed round and further investment on the way, you’d have a chance to work with progressive BioTech companies whilst having a positive influence on the wider scientific world.

What experience you’ll need

  • Proven experience in a front-end focused role, ideally within a start-up/scale-up.
  • Core front-end skills, HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Knowledge of TypeScript too.
  • Significant knowledge of React and its ecosystem (Hooks, Redux, Thunks, NextJS etc.).
  • Eye for usability, user experience and component-driven design.
  • JavaScript testing knowledge (Jest, React Testing, Cypress etc.).
  • Commercial experience in AWS environments (EC2, IAM, ALB) would be useful.
  • Ability to work with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Any back-end knowledge with Node/Golang would be very desirable.

What you’ll be doing

Joining an initially small team with scope to grow, you’ll focus primarily on greenfield project work that supports their core product; an AI Assistant connected to lab environments to increase productivity and efficiency. You’ll take ownership of front-end build and maintenance, ensuring everything you produce is clean, reusable and scalable as the platform and user base grows in their next stage of expansion. You’ll play an integral role in design & UX inputs, providing influence on architectural direction and supporting the wider team in determining how their products are built moving forward. Lots of variety in a fast-growing and ever-changing start-up!

What you’ll get in return for your talents

An incredible opportunity to join a pioneer in scientific efficiency. You’ll be given the support of an incredibly talented founding team and engineering department, offering good scope to progress into leadership should you wish. They offer 27 days hols (+ bank hols + end-of-year break), stock options, flexi-time, almost full remote working (monthly Bristol trip), constant training, courses, conference access, as well as your own choice of tech setup (within reason!). Lots of positives with this one.
