Good news for the talented search specialists out there with a nose for adventure, right on your doorstep (if, of course, you’re Gloucestershire based) is the opportunity to join a business at the top of its game and lead the search marketing activity across their main (enterprise level) site plus all of their (many) international sites to boot! Happy days! Well, only if you’ve got the detailed level of SEO (technical and content-driven) and paid search we are looking for - of course.
What you’ll be doing
Working in the broader digital marketing and eCommerce team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that SEO best practice is adhered to throughout the online presence of the brand as well as boosting organic search results internationally through a well-rounded program of SEO optimisation. You’ll be working across the board, from technical SEO and site audits, through to optimised content and leveraging content marketing to boost the link profile for the business. It’ll be your responsibility to keep up with the breakneck pace of change across Google’s algorithms, requirements and you will tailor the SEO strategy to consumer online behaviour around the world. You’ll be managing a small team (of one) and will be responsible for ensuring that the SEO activity is doing its part to pull in line with the overall eCommerce and digital strategy.
On top of this, you'll be responsible for the PPC and display activities that'll form the other two strands of the three-pronged search strategy. With agency and broader team support, you'll be responsible for handling the (very) large annual and monthly paid search budgets, setting global campaign strategies and ensuring that the right ROI, traffic acquisition and broader campaign metrics are achieved. Never a dull day, then!
What experience you’ll need
The two biggest things here are the scale of sites that you’ll have had ownership of as well as having been responsible for a large scale, global paid search (PPC / display ) programme. This is a Search Manager role for an enormous brand – so we really need to see a specialist who has a track record of growing the search performance of large scale brands and has an intricate knowledge of SEO, PPC and biddable media in all their guises – we are not after someone who has a top-line understanding having covered SEO or PPC as a small part of a broader digital marketing role for smaller tier websites (sorry!). You’ll be well equipped to deal with a fast pace of change and will have an adaptable approach.
