This is a very rare opportunity to join an incredible business in Castle Cary as their Lead Designer. An outstanding new tourist destination is being created in the heart of Somerset. Set among 1500 acres of land there is a high end hotel and spa, as well as stunning gardens, a working cider mill, countless trails, restaurants, cafes, a host of regular family events, this is a destination that’ll be known of worldwide.  

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining the business as the creative driving force behind a new and exciting business. This is a varied and diverse role for a lead designer to really sink their teeth into and make it their own. It’s safe to say no day will be the same, in your day to day you’ll be crafting slick, clean, modern and most importantly luxury high-end designs for a variety of touchpoints.

As this is an integrated role, you’ll use your creative flair to deliver engaging designs across packaging, signage, branding and a host of online & offline collateral to name a few. You’ll be conceptual in your approach, have a concise design rationale and have solid experience in designing for a luxury brand (think along the lines of Apple branding!) to be considered for this one.

There will be a lot of crossover with other departments within the business so you’ll need to be articulate, professional and able to hold your own in front of senior stakeholders (including the owners), punctual and no stranger to juggling multiple briefs.

What experience you’ll need to apply

  • Experience in designing/developing high-end luxury brands.
  • A portfolio of integrated design projects (print, packaging, digital).
  • Fluent with Adobe Creative Suite skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign).
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ambitious with a love for all things design.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
