This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Biochemist in a rapidly growing Biotech company that using food waste to develop bioplastics and innovative materials. The role will be based in Leeds.

What you’ll be doing?

We’re looking for someone with a background in hydrolysis, fermentation, and analysis. You will play a key play role in the development of an innovative sustainable material and be involved in optimising fermentation, improving production efficiency/rates, and carrying out experimental projects on fermentation. You will be involved in characterising bacterial growth rates and communicate this in the form of a technical report.

What they are looking for?

They are looking for someone who has a background in analytical chemistry, biochemistry or synthetic biology and has lab experience of fermentation process R&D as well as scaling up from Lab to industry.

  • You must have experience in handling non-pathogenic organisms
  • Knowledge of spectrophotometry and microbial assays
  • Experience and understanding on molecular biology
