Network Engineer

A top asset management/tech solutions provider is looking for an experience Network Engineer to join their team of 8 with offices near to Malmesbury, Wilts.  We’re looking for a talented network specialist to help support remotely across multiple sites and Cisco products.

What skills you’ll need

  • LAN/WLAN/WAN support and engineering design for voice, data and video networks at Access, Aggregation, and Core network locations.
  • Technical knowledge of Cisco products and technologies (Catalyst 37xx, 38xx Switches, VSS, ASA, WLAN) as well as advanced network routing, switching and load balancing technologies.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, QoS, layer 2 and layer 3 VLANS, Concepts include, but not limited to, BGP, OSPF, RIP, HSRP, NAT.
  • Strong working knowledge of structured cabling systems, network facilities, UPS, etc.
  • Router, Switch and IP configuration experience.
  • Knowledge of security concepts and technologies, mainly Cisco ASA Firewalls.
  • Experience deploying and configuring virtual networks and routing paths in an Azure cloud environment.
  • Proven track record with successful deployment of small-medium- scale network projects on time to quality from a resource, task and technical perspective.

What you’ll be doing

This entrepreneurial business has some big projects on the horizon that will need strong Cisco network design skills. A number of their sites need re-networking and there are new properties being added on a regular basis.  You will be evaluating tech and architectures according to business needs and managing and designing the rollout of critical network infrastructure to the group.  They’ll look for you to ensure that network projects deliver value for money, improve process and service quality, team lead projects when required and deploy and configure virtual networks and routing paths in an Azure cloud environment.
