Senior Conference Producer

Here is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast growing business in central Bristol as their new Senior Conference Producer.  Producing a number of conferences on an interesting and creative topic area you will manage the end to end delivery of these within a commercial B2B environment. 

What you'll be doing

You will research and produce high quality and innovative agendas for a small portfolio of marketing conferences.  Initially you will research industry topics and keep abreast of the latest industry trends to identify key content ideas that will entice delegates to the shows.  You will assume full project ownership of each event from a content perspective and will begin sourcing, selecting and securing industry leading speakers to attend and participate in the shows.  You will use a range of methods to attract this talent, through phone calls, networking, face to face meets and utilising existing contacts. 

As a creative content creator, you will will bring the agenda to life through enticing copy across a number of channels, promoting the events through digital channels such as the website, targeted email campaigns and social media management, as well as running peripheral events such as roundtables and breakfast briefings.  You will also work closely with the sales team on commercial content such as whitepapers, webinars and reports to help hit content revenue targets.

Managing the two Journalists you will plan, research and ensure execution of great content to begin converting readers in to delegates.  You will then ultimately be responsible for the onsite delivery of content during the events through meticulous on-site execution of the conferences to exceptional customer standards.

Following the events, you will analyse and report on the conference success, and make recommendations on ways to improve future events. 

What experience you'll need to apply

  • Previous experience in conference production, ideally in a B2B environment
  • Experience creating powerful, well written programmes
  • Exceptional project management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Driven to deliver results accurately on time
  • A natural communicator, both written and verbally
  • Very strong organisational and time management skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • A strong networker
  • Ability to quickly research and understand a market to draw up a list of topics and speakers
  • Ideally educated to a degree level, or holding a relevant professional qualification such as CIM

What skills you’ll be needing Proven software quality assurance experience with a focus on web-based applications. Experience developing automated functional regression tests. Experience using the Rapid testing approach. Experience of Test Automation processes, tools and managing Continuous Integration. Knowledge of testing with C# based programming languages Experience with Agile methodologies (TDD, BDD, SCRUM, Kanban, etc) and associated tools (Rally, Jira) Experience of responsive cross-browser testing and using Performance/Load testing tools such as Jmeter. Experience with tools like Cucumber/Gherkin, Specflow, Burp suite, SmartBear, Selenium Knowledge of the use of Web services (SOAP & REST) and API Mocking (WireMock, Postman) Experience of SOA and Microservices in a Single Page Application (SPA) architecture Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (GitHub, GitFlow, Jenkins, Team City, Octodeploy) Ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences What you’ll be doing You’ll be work closely with the product owner and project team to ensure acceptance criteria are accurate, clear and well defined. Influence the tool and technology selection. Define clear and well-written test scenarios, implement and execute those tests using test automation tools. Triage and lead the investigation into reported issues, ensure they are being properly tracked and work to actively prevent regressions. Help to define and develop the overall QA process with the lead QA/test automation analyst. Help scale up the current Test automation solution in place. To mentor other team members and to contribute to team best practices in Agile. Working cooperatively with existing colleagues to continue to develop the testing framework. Reviewing Pull requests identifying problems before they are committed. Attending the daily stand-ups for the technical workstreams they are responsible for.
