We’re recruiting a DevOps Engineer for an award-winning company that benefits pets and their owners all around the world. They’ve been established for over twenty years, and from day one they’ve been driven by great customer service and a sense of purpose - pledging to protect animals, inspiring change within their industry and generously donating money from their own profits to animal charities.

As a result of business growth, they have been heavily investing in their Data/Tech teams and are now looking to recruit a DevOps Engineer to join the team. This role will release oversight across the IT teams including development, infrastructure, testing and database administration to facilitate a cohesive department.

What you’ll need:
  • In-depth experience with Azure (ideally) or AWS or GCP.
  • A strong commercial understanding of Kubernetes and containerisation using Infrastructure a Code, preferably using Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of source control and its methodologies (Gitflow, trunk-based development, etc)
  • Architectural experience with back-office applications and their design.
Bonus skills:
  • A background in software development.
  • Any previous experience within Financial Services.

What you’ll be doing:

The Azure environment is already operational, but it’s been identified they are not fully leveraging the platform, so you’ll be providing automation, architectural, and process solutions to help improve technical quality and efficiency. They run most of their infrastructure on several Kubernetes clusters with many greenfield supporting technologies.

Entrusted with access to environments and systems, you’ll help with the design and implementation of deployment pipelines and infrastructure, troubleshooting issues when the needs arrive. You will be working closely with a DevOps team of 5, developers and testers. This role is a key hire to help the department to work cohesively at a logistical and technical level, so you’ll also act as a quality champion, helping with QA and release oversight across the IT teams.

What you’ll get in return:

On top of a salary up to £65k, you will also receive a broad range of company benefits. The role is remote but monthly visits to the office would be great and you’re welcome to come to the office more regularly if you prefer. They understand there’s more to life than work, so there are lots of family-orientated benefits enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption pay packages, ‘pawternity’ leave, dependants leave, pregnancy loss support. You’ll get 23 days holiday plus BH’s and your birthday off as standard, but there’s also the option to purchase additional holiday if you wish. There’s a whole heap of other perks like a training and opportunities to complete paid certifications, a wellbeing hub, health cash plan, gym membership, a range of discounts, Employee of the Quarter Scheme and more.
