What you’ll be doing

As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be supporting the development of next-generation, high-technology scientific instrumentation.

You will be delivering integrated mechanical design solutions as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, using tolerance stack-up analysis in the design phase to ensure manufacturing process capability. This will mean contributing to the continuous improvement of the engineering tools, procedures, and best practices within the discipline.

Ensuring project requirements are captured and achieved while meeting all necessary safety, compliance, and technical standard, whilst working closely with the manufacturing and service teams to ensure design delivers operational efficiency.
 

What experience you’ll need to apply

  • HNC or degree level in an Engineering related discipline.
  • Solidworks or Solidedge.
  • Tolerance stack-up analysis, ideally having used tools such as Sigmetrix CETOL.
  • International standards (such as BS8888), drawing issue control, generating Bills of Materials, and engineering control documentation.
  • Lean tools and processes such as DfX & FMEA.
