C# Web Engineer

A technology company who build some extremely progressive products used by Scientists & Engineers from a range of industries and organisations around the world are looking for a Web Engineer as they look to grow their technology function in Malvern. The role will be fully remote initially, with 4 days remote a week once restrictions lift. With a brand-new team to build and rapid growth plans in place for 2021, this is a great opportunity for a dedicated Web Engineer to progress their career further whilst rewarding themselves by solving real-life challenges through technology.

What experience you’ll need

  • Proven experience in web app development using MS tech.
  • Significant experience with C# .Net Core.  
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap and ideally a modern library (React, Angular). 
  • Knowledge of containerisation using Docker or Kubernetes. 
  • Cloud-based development on MS Azure. 
  • Awareness of DevOps ways of working, ideally with Azure DevOps experience. 
  • Knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL. Previous exposure to Visual Studio & SQL Management Studio would be good.
  • Agile experience including Scrum, Unit Testing, TDD.

What you’ll be doing

Joining a brand-new team within the wider software function in Malvern, you’ll play an integral role in the progression of their web product suite. The business offers a massive range of products and are going through a large transformation which aims to migrate a lot of their older desktop products to cloud/web-based applications. Your focus is to drive the progression of these modern web apps, introducing new and emerging tech where necessary and utilising a DevOps way of working to add new features & functionalities before deploying to the cloud. It’ll be expected you communicate well within your team, often leading sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives etc. and to guide more junior developers whilst you do this. You will be able to provide guidance and design direction as appropriate whilst solving product problems with wider engineering teams.
