    Multi award-winning FinTech for good start-up in Central Bristol. Working on the latest tech – React, Node, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker etc. Remote/flexible working, save on your commute! A multi award-winning fin-tech in central Bristol is looking to hire 6 JavaScript Engineers to join their small/medium sized team as they expand in what is going to be a very exciting 2020. The product was first launched in the early 2010’s and is now grown onto V2 and it just continues to expand, you will play a key part in maintaining the platform. You can focus on the front-end, back-end or whole stack. What experience you’ll need Essential You’ll have good JavaScript skills. Experience with a JS framework e.g. React, Node, Express, Angular Flexibility around the stack. A passion for technology and emerging trends. Team player, even when remote. Desirable Experience with AWS. Knowledge of APIs. Familiar with TDD, CI/CD. Some DevOps exposure (Kubernetes, Docker). OpenBanking experience. Mentoring of juniors (depending on level) What you’ll be doing Focussing on your core area of the stack whether it’s front-end or back-end you’ll have the chance to work with/learn AWS, Kubernetes, Node, React, Elastic stack, API’s and more. You’ll be ensuring high quality code is delivered in line with project goals and delivery cycles. You will thrive using agile methods and enjoy working openly as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on multiple projects. Within the team you will design and build services using web technologies, improve processes through automation and optimisation, share knowledge of tools and techniques applying your broad knowledge of technologies ensuring security. Your key contributions to the platform will support consumers with their financial issues and money worries, bringing new ideas and ways of innovating the process.     PHP Developer

    12 month FTC, fully home-based role. Exciting website relaunch programme. Meaningful cause, flexible hours, friendly & collaborative team. A leading conservation charity is looking for a talented PHP Developer to join them on a fully remote working basis. They do some really important work tackling conservation and ecological issues and have recently received funding to relaunch their website and make an even bigger impact. They now need a developer to come in and take ownership of their existing online platform keeping it functional as they ready themselves for the relaunch. This role is initially on a 12 month fixed term basis however you will have the opportunity to play an active role in the relaunch with the possibility of going perm at the end of the contract. What skills you’ll need Proven background in PHP software development. Experience using at least one MVC framework such as Symfony or Laravel. An ability to deliver complex database driven websites. Strong working knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Good understanding of databases & SQL scripting. Experience with the LAMP stack and Linux server administration. What you’ll be doing Joining their in-house development team your focus will be to keep the charity operational in the run up to their large-scale website relaunch by maintaining and continuing to develop their current online platform. They have recently adopted a new CRM, and so you will be responsible for integrating the existing website and databases.  Working closely with the Digital Lead, you’ll manage the deployment of new software and updates, integrations with internal & 3rd party applications and Linux server administration. Further, you will play an active role in the shaping the website relaunch, lending your expertise to help inform technical decisions. Much of the role will include back-end development of the current product, looking after the AWS set-up and contributing new ideas on features and iterations to improve membership. Code quality and standards are high so they’re keen to find someone with a meticulous eye for detail and someone with self-motivation who can pick up new skills as they go. There is a fantastic opportunity for personal development with the founders keen to find a technically skilled leader to take on the role of CTO where you will be tasked with growing out a team to support development needs. What you’ll get in return for your talents The salary on offer ranges from £55K-£70K depending on experience and existing skillset.
