This is an opportunity to join an exciting Bioprocessing innovator using a breakthrough platform to reduce the manufacturing costs within the Cell & Gene Therapy and Drug Discovery markets. In line with growth, they are seeking a Product Architect to manage the development and architecture of their products. As part of the executive management team, you will initially manage a team of 3 with rapid growth to 10. What you'll be doing:     Create product architecture and gain an understanding of the technical and user requirements of the product. Design, build and execute product roadmaps. Manage the engineering team, growth, and function. Development and select third-party suppliers and relationships. Work with fellow executive management team on IP development and strategy. What experience you will need to apply:     Extensive engineering product development for life science technology and/or applications. Proven leadership of teams 3 in size. Sound Quality Management Systems expertise. Used to managing engineering workshops or laboratories. Any experience of microfluidic technology would be beneficial but not essential.     Manufacturing Engineer

      New role for an experienced manufacturing engineer to help drive improvements Working on state of the art medical/scientific equipment Lead role with responsibility across engineering, supply chain and quality Experience/Skill you will need: Six sigma, Kanban, materials flow and pull systems Continuous improvement in an electro/mechanical assembly environment Confidence working with manufacturing, supply chain, quality and suppliers day to day Have experience with optical products/processes or an eagerness to learn and train in this area - full and bespoke training will be provided Problem solving and improvement focussed approach The Role: You will take responsibility for the manufacturability of current and new products, while ensuring quality and cost targets can be met. Working closely with R+D teams to solve technical problems throughout the process. The Manufacturing Engineering team consists of 12 engineers and work closely with Optical, Scientific and other Engineering team’s day to day. There will be flexibility to work 2/3 days a week at home, for spec reviews and improvement plan prep etc, but there will always be some site based requirement.   What you will get in return for your talents: You’ll be entitled to 23 days holiday (increasing to 25 with service), flexi-time (core hours 10-12 and 2-3 Monday to Friday, 37.5 hour working week) with the opportunity for remote working with a trip to the office 1-2 times a week. They are creating innovative, customer-focused solutions and services to enhance efficiency and deliver tangible economic impact through chemical, physical and structural analysis of materials.   What you’ll be doing As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be delivering integrated mechanical, opto-mechanical, and fluid-mechanics design solutions as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers. Using optical and/or thermal simulation tools to inform design requirements, and you will develop an understanding of the technology that underpins the clients products.   Working closely with the manufacturing and service teams to ensure design delivers operational efficiency. Selection of appropriate manufacturing techniques according to part requirements, and analysis of supplier capability data.   What experience you’ll need to apply HNC or degree level in an Engineering related discipline. Solidworks or Solidedge. Design of integrated opto-mechanical assemblies. International standards (such as BS8888), drawing issue control, generating Bills of Materials, and engineering control documentation. Lean tools and processes such as DfX & FMEA. You will be delivering integrated mechanical design solutions as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, using tolerance stack-up analysis in the design phase to ensure manufacturing process capability. This will mean contributing to the continuous improvement of the engineering tools, procedures, and best practices within the discipline. Ensuring project requirements are captured and achieved while meeting all necessary safety, compliance, and technical standard, whilst working closely with the manufacturing and service teams to ensure design delivers operational efficiency.   What experience you’ll need to apply HNC or degree level in an Engineering related discipline. Solidworks or Solidedge. Tolerance stack-up analysis, ideally having used tools such as Sigmetrix CETOL. International standards (such as BS8888), drawing issue control, generating Bills of Materials, and engineering control documentation.
