Sysadmin professionals manage, install and upgrade and software and hardware. They are typically involved in data backup and recovery, as well as maintaining operating systems, email, PCs, local and wide area networking both hardware and software and mid-range server hardware.
DevOps is a collaborative delivery process that highlights communication between operations and professionals. The main objective of a DevOps Engineer is to automate a smooth process that integrates software testing by forming and maintaining a harmonious environment in which software releasing can happen frequently.

What a Sysadmin or DevOps career or job may entail…
You will be responsible for every stage of all hosting environments, from design to implementation to maintenance. You may provide capable assistance across all aspects of the Developer environment and client hosting platforms. Your knowledge and skills will grow through an introduction to new technologies and procedures and this will be used to improve systems throughout your remit. You may also evaluate and select new tech as well as improve all systems and processes around you.

Head of DevOps
At an entry level, junior / graduate Sysadmin or DevOps professionals on average will be earning between £20k-£30k. At the mid-level you’d be looking to earn £30k-£45k and seniors would be looking to earn £45k+.
