Chris shares what it's like to work at ADLIB.
The best thing that happened to me this week:
My last week was generally one of those great all round weeks in recruitment; I had a candidate offered and accept a new role with one of my new clients, another candidate will be offered a role next week once they have final sign off, and I had roles in with 3 new clients, two of which are very well known National brands.
If I could change one thing that happened in my day today:
If I had the power, I would remove some of the red tape within larger organisations to streamline the sign off and offer process. Unfortunately the delays cause unease in some candidates and risks everyone losing out.
For me, this is what working at ADLIB is all about:
A fun, collaborative, and grown up working environment. We all know how to get our heads down and manage our own workload without stepping on each other. We have such a strong brand that most candidates and clients already know us which is such a strong starting position. But it's our way of working, honesty, and candidate and client management which ensures we have long lasting relationships and repeat business.
My biggest feel good moment since I've been at ADLIB:
After initially joining ADLIB for a new challenge on a tech desk, I was shortly after given the opportunity to head up the Client Side Marketing desk and drive this forward, it was great to be able to work with the candidates and clients I know and understand the best, and ADLIB's are better than anyone's!
How I explain what I do at a party:
I usually start by saying I work in recruitment but please don't hold that against me!
Recruiters can sometimes have a bad name, so I try and explain why we're different, that you couldn't find a group of more honest recruiters, and that my role within the business is to lead and develop the In House Marketing desk (as most people have no idea what I mean by Client Side), once I throw in a few names of the incredible brands and businesses we work with, they usually have a better understanding of what I do.
