My client has had their Engineering Manager leave and are looking for a replacement. This is an excellent opportunity to take over an existing team of experts, support their development and continue to grow the team. The role is the most senior tech role in the business, so you’ll have ownership of the technology strategy and work with an awesome inter-disciplinary team. They are open to a good degree of flexibility over time in the office/labs vs time from home.

What you’ll be doing

As the head of the team, you’ll take over the leadership of the technology function in the business. You’ll work with other departments including biologists, chemists, hardware engineers, commercial teams and more. This is an exciting business with a lot of moving parts, so will be a great challenge to take on. Leading from the front, you’ll support the experts in your team, develop and motivate them, as well as acting as a conduit between the team, the C-Suite and other teams in the business. This is a great opportunity to work in a game changing business that is tackling pollution issues head on and disrupting a global industry.

What experience you’ll need to apply

  • An MSc or PhD in a data or technology focused field like Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a solid STEM background.
  • Previous hands on experience in technical roles.
  • Strong people management experience.
  • Product management or strategic leadership experience.
  • Experience in a start-up / scale up nice to have.
  • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Effective communication skills for seamless collaboration across diverse technical levels.

What you’ll get in return for your experience

The compensation for this role ranges from £80,000 – £100,000 (dependent on experience), along with a host of fantastic benefits. These include a flexible work policy allowing a split between office and home, equity options and a great benefits package.
