Network Engineer

A FinTech company with an industry leading product is looking to hire a Network Engineer to join their growing team in Coventry. What you’ll be doing

Joining a brand-new service ops team, this role plays an integral role in the provision of network support escalation for on-prem systems, data centres and cloud platforms across the group of businesses. You’ll deploy, change and improve network configuration with a focus on firewalls and switches, working closely with the Network Analyst and Senior Network Engineer to further improve service to their customer base. You’ll take accountability for BAU operations across the group’s hosted systems, which includes reviewing, identifying and improving existing network processes and ensuring everything is robust / secure. The role is primarily on-site, though you’ll be able to adopt a more hybrid approach once settled into the business.

What experience you’ll need

• Proven background in Network Engineering, preferably in Cisco environments.
• Well-versed in firewalls, routers, switches (ideally Cisco but others considered).
• Network administration skills; VMWare, Load Balancers, WAN/WLAN/LAN.
• Extensive knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP.
• Proficient troubleshooting capability, ability to interpret fault descriptions provided by customers.
• Any experience supporting VMWare ESX environments would be very useful.
• Knowledge of SQL Server is highly advantageous.
• Experience with enterprise level storage would be beneficial.
• Clear communicator and solution-oriented in approach.
