The world is currently facing a natural crisis, with the loss of 85% of wetlands, 35% of forests, and 65% of living creatures. To address this issue, our client, a startup founded at Oxford University, is seeking a Senior Engineer to join their team to develop a green-field platform.

What you will be doing:

As a Senior Ops/DevOps Engineer, you will work alongside a team of technologists and scientists to create a customer-facing product that will have a significant impact on the world. The startup already has an established business through its consulting arm and is now creating a new product to take its impact to the next level.

Key responsbilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure on AWS.
  • Develop and implement automation processes for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Terraform.
  • Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline software delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance, reliability, and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in DevOps, cloud computing, and automation.

What experience you will need to apply:

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Ops Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency with AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and IAM.
  • Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools, particularly Terraform.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience with related tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
