This is an opportunity to work for a leading meal catering company providing ready-made meals to schools, hospitals, care homes and nurseries. They are looking for a Supplier Technical Manager to join the team who would be focused on the management of their 350+ suppliers.

What you’ll be doing:

As the Supplier Technical Manager you will be involved in:

  • Developing and maintain processes and procedures in relating to technical approval of suppliers
  • Managing and performing supplier auditing and approval in relation to food safety, quality and authenticity for food, packaging and relevant service providers.
  • Ensure issues caused by supplier failure are fully investigated to identify the root cause.
  • Submission and presentation of monthly reports in relation to key accountabilities and KPI’s.
  • Final approval of ingredient and traded product specifications.
  • Have one Direct report.

What experience you’ll need:

  • You will need to have a background in Food science and have preferably worked across a number of sectors within the food industry.
  • Have previous experience managing suppliers working as either a technical manager or auditor.
  • Hold the Lead auditor qualification.

In return for your experience you will work for a well-established company which has a pretty flat management structure. They are very keen for this person to make the role their own. This role would be based in Trowbridge 1 to 2 days a week but also involve travel to Supplier sites which are based in the UK and Ireland mostly.
