What did you want to become when you were a kid?
A footballer, or more specifically David Beckham. I had all the replica Man U kits, played right wing, and copied many of his haircuts from blonde parting to skinhead. Sadly on the football pitch I’m more of a Phil Neville than a David Beckham.
In your opinion, what is “what working at ADLIB” all about?
Autonomy and collaboration. From day one I enjoyed the fun, friendly and flexible culture, but I soon noticed that everyone also really cares about giving their candidates and clients the best possible service and treating each other with respect, which isn’t always the case in recruitment, or any working environment.
I’m proud that we are the UK’s only employee owned, B Corp certified recruitment agency, and this positive ethos resonates in everything we do. From a personal perspective, I’m surrounded by talented, hardworking, and experienced colleagues who I’ve been able to both learn from and offer guidance to, whilst gaining multiple promotions and ultimately relocate to Brighton to open a new office. The trust, support and culture are genuinely superb, and ADLIB’s reputation holds a lot of weight with candidates and clients alike. Myself and my colleagues gain a lot of recommendations and referrals which validates our ways of doing things.
What is something unexpected about you that people might be surprised to learn?
I’m just as happy listening to Slipknot as N Sync. In high school I had shoulder length hair and played the drums, and before recruitment I was a nightclub and music festival promoter across the UK.
