When I was a kid I wanted to become…
I had lots of ideas when I was younger; a teacher, zoo keeper, architect… I studied music technology at college and university though, so the natural choice was recruitment 😉
For me, this is what working at ADLIB is all about:
Working at ADLIB is about a lot of things to me but something I’ve always found rewarding is working with a business that doesn’t stand still, one that looks to the future and is always learning to be better. From B Corp, to our partnerships and events, content and marketing, becoming employee owned, developing new markets… every year brings something new and it always feels like you’re moving forward and part of something progressive.
My biggest feel good moment since I’ve been at ADLIB:
It’s hard to pick one as there’s been so many… but to get a bit nostalgic for a moment and think back to my early days at ADLIB; being given the opportunity to focus on and grow a market I really care about meant a lot. Even almost nearly a decade of working in it, I’m still fascinated by design and love working in the sector.
How I explain what I do at a party:
I connect designers with businesses across the UK; start-ups, SME’s, corporates, not-for-profits – all sorts! I spend most of my time working in user experience. In simple terms it’s the ‘what’ and ‘why’ that informs the design of products and services, whether it’s a national health service or a takeaway delivery app.
Beyond recruitment at ADLIB, I care about…
ADLIB becoming employee owned is an awesome landmark. It’s been great to see it evolve, and It’s created a real sense of ownership across the team. The employee council is up and running and we’re taking more feedback than ever on what we’re doing well and what we can improve. Along with B Corp it’s something that has a real tangible impact on culture and community.
