How you choose to join in is up to you! Join either:

  • Or attend online and enjoy a welcoming and authentic Green Tech South West experience using CrowdCast. Join online from 6.20pm for a 6.30pm start.

Both sessions close at 8pm. For those in person we’ll move to a nearby pub for more networking.

Please tell state your preference for attending when you RSVP so we can order the right amount of food and drinks and prevent food waste or hungry bellies!

Leave No One Behind

As many as 1 in 4 people on the planet are disabled – nearly 2 billion people. Being greener and acting on climate change is a team sport. We need to include Disabled people. We need their help.

In this talk we’ll:

  • explore the connections between digital, sustainability, disability and accessibility;
  • learn a few tips to get started in disability inclusion;
  • be inspired to ask new questions, such as “how do we make sure we leave no one behind?”, “how do we make sustainability more accessible to Disabled people, and more inclusive to all people?”, “how does the Digital Divide affect Disabled people and their opportunities to take part in climate action?”.

Jon Gibbins is the Founder and Managing Director of As It Should Be, a UK-based agency helping digital teams design and build accessible and sustainable products and services. He’s passionate about making the digital world better for all people and for our planet, running an ethical business, and practical approaches to achieving accessibility and sustainability.

Mission Transition at Kaluza

Mission Transition is Kaluza’s strategy to accelerate the transition of our energy system to a zero carbon world.

Hear from Tom Mallett on what the company sustainability mission is and how we went about setting the most ambitious targets in the market. Then, Jaime Thompson will talk about how our software engineers are developing sustainable tech products, how to reduce carbon footprint of software and how you can adopt some of these changes in your own organisations.

Jaime Thompson is Head of Engineering for the Accounts Lifecycle squad at Kaluza. Prior to Kaluza she spent over two decades in the Finance industry. Jaime lives in Brighton with her husband and two rescue cats Belle and Badger.

Tom Mallett is Kaluza’s Sustainability Manager, looking after both internal sustainability strategy and ensuring that Kaluza’s products are supporting customers towards a more sustainable future. Tom lives in Cardiff and likes to be by the sea, for surfing, and the mountains, for hiking.
