What you’ll be doing:
We are seeking an experienced Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting life cycle assessments to evaluate the environmental impact of the solutions that we develop including products and services.
They will work collaboratively across the Biohm Partners team to deliver a wide range of advisory engagements for our clients. They will also contribute to internal projects and business development activities. The position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and client-facing skills within the context of a UK-based strategy consultancy.
Tasks include:
Impact Assessment and Methodology Innovation:
- Lead the development and application of intelligent and holistic impact assessment methodologies to provide comprehensive evaluations of environmental, social, and economic impacts.
- Lead stakeholder engagement workshops and support clients in developing science-based targets, net-zero roadmaps, and sustainability reporting.
- Work closely with the wider team to align impact assessment methodologies with strategic delivery and client engagement.
- Develop and implement strategies to validate and refine impact assessment methodologies using real-world data and continuous feedback loops.
Impact Validation, Development, and Improvement:
- Develop and maintain impact assessment models that are adaptable, scalable, and capable of evolving into automated solutions over time.
- Collaborate with wider colleagues across the Biohm Partners and Biohm Ltd. and selected subject matter experts, to validate impact assessments and guide innovation cycles.
Biotechnology Impact Assessment and Compliance:
- Conduct appropriate lifecycle assessments on Biohm Group Ltd’s biotechnologies at every TRL stage, informing innovative research and guiding further product development.
Operational Impact Analysis and Validation:
- Collaborate with Biohm’s Operations team to analyse and validate operational impact assessments, ensuring accurate and meaningful evaluations in alignment with business certifications and regulatory compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Strategic Alignment:
- Collaborate closely with the other members of the Biohm Partners team to deliver integrated, impactful solutions leveraging biomimicry, TRIZ, and intelligent impact assessments.
Business Development & Company Growth
- Provide holistic, systemic, and balanced opinions on environmental, social, and economic impact to influence current and future business models and strategies.
- Build and maintain an ever-growing awareness of state-of-the-art impact assessment methodologies deployed within various sectors including, but not limited to, ESG assessment tools to circular economy frameworks.
What experience you’ll need:
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field.
- Significant 5-years’+ experience in delivering complex LCAs within different markets, ideally for a consultancy / advisory company.
- Familiarity with broader sustainability topics (e.g., circular economy, ESG, climate risk).
Life Cycle Assessments (LCA)
- Solid understanding of LCA methodology and ISO 14040 standards, and the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills applying various LCA software. We would expect extensive experience in one of the main tools including GaBi, openLCA or SimaPro etc. and advanced competency in Microsoft Excel.
Client Management & Business Development
- Demonstrable client management skills ideally gained working in a consultancy/advisory environment.
- Experience of undertaking and supporting business development work including contributing to proposals.
Programme & Project Management
- Experience of managing multiple marketing projects simultaneously and ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
