Principal Scientist – Vaccine Development

This is an exciting opportunity to join a unique and exciting biotechnology start-up. After recent £11M funding, they are entering an exciting phase of growth and scale-up. Because of this, they are hiring a highly motivated vaccine developer to work on cross protective vaccines through computationally designed antigens.

What you will be doing?

  • Leading and managing vaccine development projects from discovery to preclinical development.
  • Designing and executing preclinical studies to assess novel vaccine candidates.
  • Regularly communicating and presenting results to leadership teams.
  • Manage external projects with CROs and external collaborators.
  • Maintaining familiarity with scientific and technical literature pertinent to the projects.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate scientific insights into the development process.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

 
What are they looking for?

  • The post holder will have extensive post-doctoral hands-on vaccine development experience as well as experience in protein production and purification.
  • PhD in Biological Sciences.
  • Experience with immune assays such as flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISpot, and neutralisation assays for evaluation of immune responses.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to drive projects forward in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
