Senior Full Stack Developer

Hybrid working - 2 days a week on site in Central London.

We’re working with a leading Blockchain startup based in London who is looking for a Full Stack Developer, skilled in Node.js, React.js and Typescript to join their team.

Based in Canary Wharf, with one of the most experienced teams in the industry, this business specializes in building products with a focus on distributed ledger technology and advanced cryptography. They work with a broad scope of global, enterprise level clients to deliver solutions that maximize trust, data privacy and security.

About the role

Joining a cross-functional team of c.16 that includes, Developers, DevOps, QA’s, PM’s and reporting to the Tech Lead you’ll be working on an established trading system for an enterprise client, requiring you to be onsite at their offices in Waterloo 2 days a week. You’ll need to be comfortable liaising directly with the client to understand requirements.

You’ll work with TypeScript, Node, React as well as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS and take responsibility for building and deploying new features into production environments as well as contributing to automated testing and peer code reviews.

The platform is complex and expanding so initially you’ll take on more front-end tasks whilst you become familiar with the project and once you’ve settled into the role the expectation is for you to focus more on backend.

What experience you’ll need to apply.

  • Full Stack experience with a higher level of proficiency in backend development.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Node.js and React.js with a deep understanding of both.
  • 3+ years’ experience developing code with TypeScript.
  • Experience of automated testing (Playwright, Jest or similar).
  • Comfortable with autonomy and ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent communication and happy to be on site twice a week.
  • A mix of experience in a start-up as well as working with enterprise level businesses.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with AWS
  • Prior experience working on trading platforms.
  • Experience with functional programming/languages like OCaml or Haskell etc.
