We’re working with a specialist service provider who are investing in their engineering capabilities and building out a dedicated testing team as part of this growth. They are mobilizing 3 scrum teams around their various applications to deliver upcoming projects and streamline their processes. As part of their growth, they are looking for a Senior Test Engineer skilled in automation to join them.

With offices in Bristol, Exeter, Southampton, and Plymouth they work with a hybrid set up and and are looking for someone who sees the value in participating in sprint and other key meetings in person to aid collaboration and team building.

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Test Engineer, you’ll work alongside each of the other 3 Test Engineers assigned to each scrum team, providing hands-on testing expertise as well as supporting the over-all testing strategy for the business.

You’ll work with the Head of Engineering, Solutions Architect and DevOps Engineer to help install testing best practice, advising on the best tools and approaches to help future proof their stack and elevate the business’ automation capabilities.

You’ll need extensive scripting experience within C#, deep knowledge of Scrum, and the ability provide support and mentorship to the more junior testers.

What skills you’ll need?

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. C#) for test automation.
  • Experience using test automation frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium or similar.
  • Expertise in managing the balance between manual and automated testing.
  • Knowledge of Agile development practices/methodologies.
  • Proficient in defect reporting and test management tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira)
  • Ability to communicate complex technical detail with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Collaborative with an ability to listen and understand challenges.

  • Relevant certifications such as ISTQB.
