Senior UI Designer – SaaS Start-up Team

SaaS Start-up Team

  • Location Remote but with access to a new office space in the South West.

  • Type Permanent

  • Salary Upto £70k

Be part of an exciting SaaS start-up team.

As the first full-time UI Designer, have huge impact on the product.

Enjoy remote working in the UK and a great working environment.

We’re on the hunt for a UI Designer to join a fast-growing SaaS start-up. This role can be done remotely (from the UK). This is a great role for a UI Designer looking to work on a complex, feature-rich product and have a big impact improving the experience.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining a small team working closely with the founders and in-house engineers on a complex SaaS product. As the UI Designer you’ll be focussed largely on the visual design of the product, improving existing features, updating the UI in a cohesive design language, and creating a scalable component library.

As part of a small but growing team, the UI Designer will also gather user feedback and conduct their own competitor research too, to understand the user needs, product landscape, competition, and opportunities in design.

This opportunity would suit someone with a broad T-shaped skillset that thrives as part of a small product team, supporting UI and UX work though the visual design and UI skills most important.

What experience you’ll need to apply

  • Previous experience in a UI focussed design role and a strong portfolio to showcase this including SaaS products and similar services.
  • At home using the Adobe Creative Suite and Figma to design.
  • Experience of working closely with developers on build and release cycles.
  • Previous experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Great communication skills.

In addition (but not essential) it’d be great to see

  • A strong understanding of UX principles and practices.
  • A relevant degree in a design or HCI related field.
  • Some familiarity with front-end languages (such as HTML, CSS, Javascript etc)

What you’ll get in return for your experience

You’ll join a fast-paced start-up with a real opportunity to influence the product’s direction and success. You’ll work with an experienced founder who gets the value of design (and has some design experience themselves). This role can be done remotely from anywhere in the UK and they offer 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
