A digital agency known for their impactful design work is looking for a Lead Digital Designer or Lead User Interface Designer to join their team. The agency is a small but mature team in central Bath where you’d be working alongside developers, designers, and project managers to create standout digital experiences for clients across the UK.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead the creative output day‑to‑day, shaping the direction of web design projects from initial client conversations through to final delivery. You’ll work on brand‑led, interactive websites, combining strong conceptual thinking with polished UI craft. You’ll turn user needs, business goals and technical constraints into designs that feel purposeful, modern and beautifully executed.

The UI Design Lead position is a hands-on creative role involving ideation, storytelling, UI design, design systems and digital brand expression. You will also have the opportunity to support social and marketing design for the studio itself. You’ll guide and mentor the existing design team, partnering with Directors on pitches and long‑term creative strategy.

You’ll collaborate closely with project managers to scope work, maintain quality, and run effective design QA. You’ll also play an active role in elevating the studio’s profile through networking, case studies and thought‑led creative work.

What experience you’ll need to apply

  • Extensive experience designing brand‑led, interactive digital experiences.
  • Strong UI craft with a portfolio of polished, creative web work.
  • Confidence shaping design direction and leading projects end‑to‑end.
  • Experience working at the intersection of brand, UX and digital.
  • Ability to explain your thinking clearly to clients and internal teams.
  • Comfortable collaborating with UX specialists, developers and agency partners.
  • Skilled in Figma, with experience creating reusable design systems.
  • Strong understanding of UX processes and user‑centred design.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively.
  • Basic motion or prototyping skills (nice to have).
  • A flair for words and understanding of how tone and storytelling influence digital experiences.
