Hybrid role - 3 days in Bristol and salary up to £75K.

We’re working with a well-established publishing organisation as they’re hiring an IT Infrastructure Manager to join the team. You’ll manage, improve and secure a varied infrastructure estate. You will create structure, improve systems and guide future direction.

What you’ll be doing
As IT Infrastructure Manager, you will take ownership of core infrastructure and security across the organisation. You’ll review existing systems, many of which are legacy or custom-built, and build a clear understanding of how they interact. From there, you’ll define priorities and implement improvements.

You will lead on cyber and information security, ensuring systems, processes and controls are fit for purpose and aligned with regulatory requirements. You’ll manage risk registers, oversee vulnerability testing and work with external partners to strengthen the overall security posture.

Alongside this, you’ll support a longer-term cloud migration project. You’ll help assess current infrastructure, contribute to planning and work with suppliers to deliver a smooth transition. You’ll also provide technical guidance to the wider team, helping to build capability internally.

What experience you’ll need to apply

  • Proven experience in an infrastructure-focused role with a strong security component as an IT Infrastructure Manager.
  • Hands-on knowledge of infrastructure environments including servers, networking and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS).
  • Understanding of cyber security principles, risk management and compliance frameworks such as GDPR and ISO standards.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and external partners.
  • Ability to review, document and improve complex or unclear systems.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach when working with evolving or undefined environments.

What you’ll get in return for your experience
The salary is in the region of £60,000–£75,000, depending on experience. You’ll benefit from a flexible hybrid working model, typically three days in a central office location and the rest remote. The organisation offers a supportive environment with realistic expectations, giving you the space to fully understand systems before making changes. You’ll also have the opportunity to shape infrastructure strategy, influence key decisions and work on impactful projects such as cloud migration and security improvement.
