We’re hiring a Software Engineer to join a high-performing digital development team working on innovative services for millions of users. You’ll design, build and maintain backend systems that power customer-facing products.
 
*You’ll need to be able to work from their North Bristol office twice a week.
 
What experience you’ll need to apply 

  • Strong experience with .NET Core, C#, and SQL.
  • Proficiency with Azure Cloud and interest in learning Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering lifecycle and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with event-driven design and reusable service architecture.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Passion for automation and eliminating duplication.

What you’ll be doing 

As a Software Engineer, the role involves taking ownership of delivering robust backend solutions. Collaboration on technical designs and contribution to architectural decisions will be key, alongside ensuring best practices are consistently applied across the team. Expect to write clean, scalable code using .NET Core and C#, while operating within an Azure Cloud environment supported by Kubernetes. 
Responsibilities include troubleshooting integration issues, improving internal processes, and identifying opportunities to enhance the customer experience. Estimating project timelines, managing technical debt, and clarifying requirements with stakeholders are also part of the remit. The work directly influences the quality and reliability of digital services used by millions. 

Participation in a wider technology design community is encouraged, helping to shape engineering standards and future practices. Mentoring junior developers, reviewing code, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement are important aspects of the role. Staying current with emerging technologies and evaluating new tools will help keep the team at the forefront of innovation. A proactive mindset is essential for driving technical excellence and delivering meaningful value to both customers and internal teams.
