About the Data Analyst role
We’re looking for a hands-on Data Analyst with a background working in marketing & CRM insight projects to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This role sits in the data engineering team and is a blend of marketing analytics, CRM, and data, working closely with commercial, advisory and customer-facing teams to deliver meaningful insights that influence business decisions.

You’ll be responsible for analysing customer, campaign and commercial data, developing dashboards and reporting, and translating complex datasets into clear recommendations. This is a highly collaborative role where you’ll partner with stakeholders across the business to understand challenges, measure performance, and uncover opportunities for growth and engagement.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting stuck into the data, is comfortable working directly with stakeholders, and can confidently tell the story behind the numbers.

What experience you’ll need to apply

  • Experience in a Data Analyst, Marketing Analyst, CRM Analyst or Insights Analyst role
  • Strong SQL skills and confidence working with large datasets
  • Experience analysing customer, campaign, CRM, marketing or behavioural data
  • Experience building reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker or similar
  • Experience measuring campaign performance and generating actionable business insights
  • Ability to translate data into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience gathering requirements and working directly with business users to solve problems
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proactive approach and willingness to own insight projects from requirements through to delivery

Nice to have

  • Experience working in CRM, loyalty, retention or customer analytics environments
  • Experience with customer segmentation, audience analysis or customer lifecycle reporting
  • Exposure to marketing performance, customer engagement or campaign measurement frameworks
  • Experience using Python for analysis and automation
  • Experience working alongside data engineering or analytics engineering teams

What you’ll get in return
A competitive salary of up to £40,000 (pro-rated) per annum. This is a part-time Data Analyst opportunity working between 22.5 and 30 hours per week across either 3 or 4 days. Carterwood offers genuine flexibility around working patterns and can accommodate school runs, caring responsibilities and other commitments where needed. During the first three months, you’ll typically spend 1-2 days per week in the Bristol office for onboarding and training. Following this period, attendance will reduce to approximately half a day to one day per week, ideally on a Monday and/or Tuesday.
