Clear progression opportunity to develop into broader commercial leadership as the business grows.
We’re recruiting a Head of Marketing for an established B2B distribution business entering an exciting stage of growth. Historically sales-led, the business has built strong customer relationships and grown successfully without an established in-house marketing function. The next stage is about becoming more deliberate and structured in how it identifies opportunities, generates demand and converts them into profitable growth.
The Head of Marketing will connect marketing directly to customers, sales, pipeline and commercial performance, while building the marketing capability the business needs for its next stage.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll take ownership of the marketing strategy, stepping back to understand where the biggest commercial opportunities exist and turning those insights into a focused, practical plan.
You’ll identify priority markets, sectors and target customers, improve customer propositions and help communicate why customers should choose the business beyond product and price.
Working closely with the Head of Sales, you’ll improve how the business generates, qualifies and converts opportunities. You’ll assess lead quality and conversion, improve feedback between sales and marketing and create a more effective approach to demand generation.
You’ll also work closely with Supply Chain to identify opportunities emerging from supplier relationships and new product ranges. You’ll assess their potential, identify the right customers and markets and build targeted activity around the strongest opportunities.
As Head of Marketing, you’ll manage internal and external marketing resource, including providing direction to a marketer and external digital partners. You’ll improve campaigns, customer propositions, website journeys, sales materials and reporting, bringing greater consistency and commercial focus to the function.
Most importantly, you’ll create structure and focus without introducing unnecessary process. There are plenty of ideas and opportunities within the business; this role is about identifying which ones matter, bringing the right people together and making sure the best ideas are followed through.
