In your opinion, what is “what working at ADLIB” all about?

Aside from everybody being amazing at the core recruitment day job, it’s incredibly inclusive here and it genuinely feels like we’re a collective, in it together as an employee-owned business, and on a mission to positively impact the industries we work within and the communities around them. Being able to say we’re the World’s highest scoring B Corp recruitment agency is pretty special too! It’s true that we share a collective ambition, and whilst we’re serious about doing the best job possible, nobody takes themselves too seriously. Without exception, everybody in the business is a lovely human.

What does the concept of ‘purpose’ mean to you?

To me, purpose means having a tangible, positive impact on all stakeholders that you come into contact with – be that colleagues, customers, communities and the planet. It means thinking and acting inclusively at all times, and realising it’s a journey of improvement. The learning never stops!

What does being a part of a B Corp mean to you?

B Corp is a movement, a community and a journey of continual improvement. Wearing the badge is an awesome thing, but it’s all about increasing that score as a collective, at every single opportunity. The B Corp framework is a brilliant tool for challenging yourselves in the most tangible and measurable manner – next time we’re aiming for 140 points+.

Can you name a book, podcast, or article that has influenced your approach to work?

What is a personal accomplishment that you are proud of outside of work?

  • Completing the Rome Marathon in 2022 and raising a good amount of money for Invest in ME Research alongside the legendary Mike Harley.
  • Completing the Chester Marathon in 2023 raising £1,300 for Babbasa.

Is there a cause or issue that you are passionate about, and if so, why?

I feel extremely lucky to have had the start in the life that I’ve had, and I’m very aware of my privilege. I want to use my position, network and experience to play a key role in improving Social Mobility. I believe that if we can get more people from diverse backgrounds into entry level roles, support, develop and retain them, we can achieve true diversity in leadership roles. It’s a complex problem to solve but there are many ways in we as individuals, and the business community can drive change and make this a reality. I volunteer as a member of DMA Talent Advisory Committee, Equal Opportunities Ambassador for Babbasa, and Ambassador at MotherBoard.

What are you currently excited about?

Launching and growing ADLIB’s EDI Directory and continuing to learn from an incredible network of EDI experts.

Partnering with awesome start-ups, scale-ups, B Corps and purpose-driven brands.

Working on high profile, transformational Senior & Strategic appointments, and wowing clients with case study-worthy service.

Tony has over 17 years’ experience in recruitment, the majority of which has been spent working with high profile agency and in-house marketing teams, globally. Tony is regularly called upon for Senior Appointments & Strategic Growth hires including Marketing Director, VP Marketing, CMO, and agency-side MD and C-level roles, as well as consulting around industry trends, salary benchmarking, employee value proposition (EVP) development, recruitment process innovation, allyship and EDI.

He heads up our Marketing, Digital & eCommerce Recruitment team which is one of the most experienced teams of its kind in the country. The team’s clients include some of the most exciting brands and agencies, start-ups, SMEs and corporates, across the UK and sometimes further afield.

The team is made up of sector specialists, each with their own niche which they’re immersed in, day-in-day-out. Together they cover everything from Agency Client Services & Strategy; CRM, Social Media, Content & CRM; SEO, PPC & CRO; B2B In-house Marketing, B2C In-house Marketing & eCommerce.
