    Mechanical Engineer

    We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team in a fast-growing biotech start up, working on the development of drug-discovery instrumentation. With the locations in both UK and US, the company is growing to become a leader in the discovery, analysis, and modulation of biomolecular condensates. You will be building highly detailed and innovative instrumentation using optical microscopy, cellular biochemistry, protein, microfluidics and more. Previous experience of product/instrumentation design in a high-tech industry is desirable.  International drug-discovery start-up. Generous bonuses & further career development opportunities.  What you’ll be doing  Developing a discovery platform using microfluidics, protein and cellular biochemistry, optical microscopy, automated protocols, and data analysis. Creating detailed design solutions using CAD and Solidworks. Coming up with own concepts and solutions. Contributing to the full cycle of component transfer to manufacture. Increasing system performance by identifying new technologies and electromechanical components Engaging in prototyping, testing, validation, and lifetime testing. Implementing automation and quality control. Maintaining existing instrumentation and carrying out regular hardware updates, managing external suppliers and sourcing components as required. Developing robotic systems is likely to come in the future.  What experience you’ll need  Degree or equivalent in a related Engineering field (Mechanical, Biomechanics, Physics, Nanotechnologies etc.) Previous experience of product/instrumentation development in a high-tech environment. Proficient in 3D CAD and SolidWorks. Problem-solving abilities, creativity in overcoming technical problems with hands on testing and experimental work. Experience using Python/MATLAB/C and ability to modify already written scripts is desirable. Experience designing microfluidic consumables and custom fluidic systems.     Senior Scientist

    — Senior Scientist, Tumour Tissue/Immunohistochemistry

    Senior Scientist in Tumour Tissue/Immunohistochemistry, Translational Medicine. Work on multiple, varied projects leading a talented team. Well-respected, growing company with great progression and a good range of projects. This is an opportunity to be part of a successful Translation Medicine department specialising in immunohistochemistry (IHC) managing projects with access to state-of-the-art laboratory equipment in a home-based capacity. This role leads within multiplex IHC (mIHC) assay discovery research supporting a variety of projects within immuno-oncology. This Senior Scientist will manage a team of Researchers across a range of biomarker discovery projects.What you'll be doing: Make up a key part of the Translational Medicine team ensuring design, delivery, and analysis of IHC and mIHC research projects are carried out effectively. Supervise a small team of research assistants providing support, feedback, scientific guidance, and solutions for the team. Oversee the development and validation of IHC assays in external CROs for clinical trials, also analyse tumour tissue samples from clinical trials presenting data at project meetings. Ensuring effective interaction with external stakeholders; CROs, academic collaborators and analytical labs. Produce technical reports, support patent development, and write scientific publications to support company goals. What experience you will need to apply: PhD in Immuno-oncology, Immunology, or Cancer Biology. OR Pathologist with significant experience with IHC techniques. A history of successful and innovative research within the of immuno-oncology/immunohistochemistry research space. Proven autonomy with high-level understanding and proficient use of IHC and mIHC techniques and pathology – Spatial Omics experience is a bonus. Demonstrable project management experience, managing multiple collaborative projects in a team-orientated environment Fluent oral and written English – French is a bonus.
