What you’ll be doing:
Manage a group of 6-8 people to ensure they’re happy, motivated, focused and delivering incredible work.

Grow and develop individuals on the team, using mentorship, coaching and sponsorship to help them learn or show their skills.
Collaborate with the Head of Discovery, Principal Scientist, and senior ICs to make tactical decisions, drive standards and practices for work.
Diagnose and resolve people problems between and within teams.
Bring your experience of early-stage drug discovery to provide scientific direction to the team.
Work closely with the talent team to attract, hire, onboard, and retain high potential team members from diverse backgrounds.
What experience you’ll need to apply?

You have an empathetic leadership style, and you build strong, effective relationships.
You have solid experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and are keen to experiment beyond basic practices and improve your team's ways of working further.
A background in industrial drug discovery - either Pharma or Biotech (essential).
You have significant experience leading, coaching, and mentoring scientists (4+ reports).
