    Digital Strategist

A fantastic opportunity is available to join a young and already successful eCommerce agency as a Digital Strategist based in Birmingham (with remote options available). What you’ll be doing  This is a brand new role to the agency, they are successful in delivering a range of digital projects to clients and have a strong service offering but they’re looking to take things up to the next level by adding strategy services to their clients. You will maximise the bottom line and add value to clients. You’ll be leading the strategy arm, providing strategic direction on projects across the full digital spectrum of big named clients and also actively contributing to new business pitches.  Your aim will be to of course delight the companies and brands you work with, delivering compelling, award winning strategy across web, digital/site strategy, social, mobile and campaign planning. You’ll also represent the interests of the team across the agency – whether that’s in planning resource, costing for projects or championing the side of Strategy/UX.  As one of the senior members of the agency, you’ll be leading on strategy for some impressive clients –as a thought leader and an influential person who can charm and give clients something to think about –in equal measure! Ideally also you’ll be highly commercial and able to empathise with their business needs to drive the best strategy. What experience you’ll need to apply  Previous experience as a Digital Strategist, Senior Digital Strategist, Digital Planner or Senior Planner is essential. Experience working in a strategic function and exposure to the digital landscape - particularly website and app development, digital campaigns would also be beneficial.  Ability to use multiple data sources and translating them into meaningful propositions. Strong communication skills, this role will be client facing, sometimes on site with clients. Experience of working autonomously. Comfortable at presenting at board level/ working with senior stakeholders. The role will be fully remote initially, with 4 days remote a week once restrictions lift. What experience you’ll need Proven experience in web app development using MS tech. Significant experience with C# .Net Core.   Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap and ideally a modern library (React, Angular).  Knowledge of containerisation using Docker or Kubernetes.  Cloud-based development on MS Azure.  Awareness of DevOps ways of working, ideally with Azure DevOps experience.  Knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL. What you’ll be doing Joining a brand-new team within the wider software function in Malvern, you’ll play an integral role in the progression of their web product suite. The business offers a massive range of products and are going through a large transformation which aims to migrate a lot of their older desktop products to cloud/web-based applications. Your focus is to drive the progression of these modern web apps, introducing new and emerging tech where necessary and utilising a DevOps way of working to add new features & functionalities before deploying to the cloud. It’ll be expected you communicate well within your team, often leading sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives etc. and to guide more junior developers whilst you do this.
