You’ll be joining Do Nation at a time of high growth having already doubled the team over the last 12 months and grown by about 6 times since our foundation. This role offers a platform for growth and progression, we are keen to talk with people who have a desire to progress to CTO further down the line. What you’ll be doing as our Engineering Lead In this role you’ll be leading our engineering and product teams (currently 8 people), taking responsibility for Do Nation's pledge platform. You'll hire and manage developers, designers and product and project professionals whilst driving our product vision and strategy and help us develop and strengthen our approach to engineering org-wide. You’ll hire, coach and develop a diverse and inclusive team of Do Nationers, drive the strategy and vision for our product, and together with Hermione (our CEO) and our Lead Designer and Product Manager, develop and deliver our product roadmap. You'll work collaboratively with your team and the wider Do Nation team to shape how our tech team operates - you'll help develop our technical practices, embed Sprint and Agile methodologies firmly within the team, lead on our technical documentation process, and more! Importantly you’ll ensure that Do Nation remains an industry leader, delivering a truly scalable, robust platform that enterprises, SMEs, and individuals alike trust and love to use. What experience you’ll need to apply You'll work at a senior level scaling engineering and product teams, ideally with responsibility for B2B SaaS products/production-grade web applications. You have built or are committed to building diverse and inclusive teams, fostering a collaborative environment that is empowering, supportive and challenging. You’ll help your people do their best work. Initially, you will have the curiosity and deep background in product and technology that means you're not afraid to get your hands dirty, coding and working with the team to improve working methodologies and coding efficiencies. You’ll have a track record of managing remote teams that successfully ship high quality products with refined user experiences. Hands-on knowledge of Django & React. You'll have a passion for climate action and will be excited by and aligned with our mission of making sustainable living mainstream.     SEO Manager

As SEO Manager you will be responsible for creating and delivering the company’s SEO strategy and roadmap across both the UK and International online stores. You’ll drive high quality traffic to multiple eCommerce websites by increasing their ranking across key terms in two main categories. What you’ll be doing Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will be an integral part of the team driving best in class SEO for the EMEA region. Day to day, you will formulate and deliver the SEO strategy across the company’s UK and international sites, included technical, content, offsite & promotion. You’ll use search insight to help drive decision-making and innovation across the business, working closely with the Digital Marketing team to drive tests and efficiencies, as well as share ideas and learnings to deliver a highly effective search operation. It will also be important to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with Digital, Trading and Content teams. Regular reporting of SEO performance using analytics tools will be essential, ensuring these are relayed in a clear and concise way, with the needs of all stakeholders in mind.What experience you’ll need to apply Hands on experience managing and improving SEO performance, ideally gained in a B2C business. Up to date knowledge of recent algorithm and Google developments, and extensive knowledge of the SEO landscape and Google Search Console. Solid understanding of Google Analytics to deliver insight and commercial analysis of performance. Ideally, you will have had some experience in Shopify Plus sites (but don't worry if you don't- this can be taught). A pro-active approach to problem solving. Excellent at multi-tasking and organisational skills. Great communication skills with the ability to present technical information in an accessible way. You'll also be able to use your communication style to work collaboratively across the business and potentially influence those around you. Be forward thinking. No two days are the same and the business is growing fast so you must be adaptable and willing to learn. Enthusiasm is a non-negotiable, as is the desire to work in a dynamic environment. What you’ll get in return for your experience A salary of £45-60k is on offer, dependent upon level of experience. With a HQ in Bromsgrove and a global reach across France, Germany, Cairo and more, this culture-driven business are looking for someone to join a small team with lots of autonomy and control over technical direction and wider development strategy.  What experience you’ll need Proven experience in the MS stack; ASP.Net, VB.Net, Web/Windows Services, Entity Framework.  Any knowledge if C# / .Net Core would be great; you’ll help to implement it.  Understanding of SQL, PL/SQL and Oracles databases (SQL essential, Oracle nice-to-have).  Awareness of REST/SOAP, 3rd party APIs.  Working knowledge of TFS/Git or similar for documentation.  Deadline-driven with ability to work on concurrent projects at a fast pace.  What you’ll be doing Historically the team have used outsourced services and contractors for most of their IT. Over the last few years they’ve built up permanent resource and are now looking to complete their transformation by bringing in their first in-house Dev. The aim is to modernise the code within their systems (there’s 10-12 legacy apps) which currently use .Net into an Oracle/SQL database. They’d like this person to lead the introduction of new tools and frameworks (including things like C# and .Net Core), re-writing certain aspects and optimising code where necessary. The apps all work functionally but have some slight performance issues in an older codebase, so you’ll be responsible for bringing this up to date and documenting your work concisely for future hires.
