    Engineering Lead

You’ll be joining Do Nation at a time of high growth having already doubled the team over the last 12 months and grown by about 6 times since our foundation. This role offers a platform for growth and progression, we are keen to talk with people who have a desire to progress to CTO further down the line. What you’ll be doing as our Engineering Lead In this role you’ll be leading our engineering and product teams (currently 8 people), taking responsibility for Do Nation's pledge platform. You'll hire and manage developers, designers and product and project professionals whilst driving our product vision and strategy and help us develop and strengthen our approach to engineering org-wide. You’ll hire, coach and develop a diverse and inclusive team of Do Nationers, drive the strategy and vision for our product, and together with Hermione (our CEO) and our Lead Designer and Product Manager, develop and deliver our product roadmap. You'll work collaboratively with your team and the wider Do Nation team to shape how our tech team operates - you'll help develop our technical practices, embed Sprint and Agile methodologies firmly within the team, lead on our technical documentation process, and more! Importantly you’ll ensure that Do Nation remains an industry leader, delivering a truly scalable, robust platform that enterprises, SMEs, and individuals alike trust and love to use. What experience you’ll need to apply You'll work at a senior level scaling engineering and product teams, ideally with responsibility for B2B SaaS products/production-grade web applications. You have built or are committed to building diverse and inclusive teams, fostering a collaborative environment that is empowering, supportive and challenging. You’ll help your people do their best work. Initially, you will have the curiosity and deep background in product and technology that means you're not afraid to get your hands dirty, coding and working with the team to improve working methodologies and coding efficiencies. You’ll have a track record of managing remote teams that successfully ship high quality products with refined user experiences. Hands-on knowledge of Django & React (React desirable) You'll have a passion for climate action and will be excited by and aligned with our mission of making sustainable living mainstream. What you’ll get in return for your talents This role offers a competitive salary of between £70,000-£90,000 (DOE) + benefits which include; 31 days holiday (+1 day for each year worked with us). This is an opportunity to join an exciting Bioprocessing innovator using a breakthrough platform to reduce the manufacturing costs within the Cell & Gene Therapy and Discovery markets. In line with growth, they are looking for a Technician to assist with Microfluidic development and microfabrication.What you’ll be doing:Perform microfabrication including soft lithography, CNC micromilling,  stamping, and bonding to help develop, fabricate and prepare microfluidic technology. Additionally you will obtain data on microfabrication and hyroddynamics flow tests to suggest design changes and process improvements.What experience you'll need to apply: Ideally degree qualified or equivalent in Engineering with a focus on Fluid Mechanics, Hydrodynamics or Microfluidics, with commercial microfabrication experience. Have worked with a SUSS MicroTech Mask Aligner (MJB4/MA8( or similar machinery with plasma bonding and/or spin coaters. Able to use CAD Software for example 2D lithography drawing in GBR format and 3D sketching.     Pivotal role within an ambitious and well-funded company.  Ownership of customer journey optimisation.  Collaborative and creative team.   The eCommerce Manager is a senior role within the business, and is responsible for ensuring excellent management and driving performance of the eCommerce website through optimising the customer journey.The business has seen strong growth in the past year and is at a point of scaling up, with a range of exciting branding and marketing projects underway, and big ambitions for the website itself. This hire will be key to achieving their short and long term goals. In return you’ll be given the opportunity to take the next step in your career within a progressive and creative company.  What you’ll be doingReporting directly to the Leadership Team, this role will work closely with Performance Marketing, Campaign Coordination, Content, and the wider Commercial teams to deliver a best-in-class eCommerce experience for all users. You will own the eCommerce strategy and will use website analytics to support your decision-making (with support from in-house analytics resource). You will be motivated by creating online customer journeys that ultimately help people find and buy items hat bring them joy. Alongside working effectively with the internal team, you will work with developers (external agency) to manage the development pipeline, including specifying development goals, sprint planning, QA/testing and product releases. A prior understanding of Shopify and its application ecosystem will be beneficial but is not essential. Being part of a small team and a growing business will require drive, perseverance and ambition. The role is ideal for an individual wanting to make an exciting step in their career and a willingness to accept and embrace added responsibilities as the role develops.What experience you’ll need Experience working within a similar eCommerce role, focusing on on-site merchandising and optimisation.  Commercially aware and curious, excited about using analytics and a range of data sources to identify opportunities to improve the website for all users.  User-centric; always putting yourself in the shoes of our different buyers.  Prior experience of Shopify is a bonus.  Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Enjoys working in a small, cross-functional team with diverse skillsets.  Thrives when problem-solving and coming up with creative solutions.  Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure. They have a small internal marketing team that is growing. They're going through a rebrand, total website overhaul and lots of other exciting changes under the strategic direction of their recently appointed Marketing Director. It's an incredible career opportunity and a chance for a Marketing Coordinator or Executive to come in and get stuck in, and hone their craft as they support the team across a range of B2C marketing campaigns, both online and offline. What experience you’ll need to apply   Marketing of Business related qualification would be desirable but isn't essential. Proven evidence of Social Media knowledge (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook) would be advantageous. Must have some tangible Marketing work experience. An interest in early years education and marketing to families is essential - relevant experience in this area would be even better! Good theoretical understanding of online and offline marketing channels (email, social, content, events, print collateral etc) Confident communicator, very well organised and good at building relationships internally and externally.
