About Do Nation
Do Nation helps people to form healthy, environmentally friendly habits. They do this through their online platform where anyone can create a campaign to raise pledges, or make a pledge - to do simple things like cycling to work or wasting less food.
A certified B Corp since 2017, winners of numerous awards and a lovely client base that includes: Innocent, Pret, Ellas Kitchen and Pukka Herbs as well as SSE and PWC (to name a few). You’ll be joining Do Nation at a time of high growth having already doubled the team over the last 12 months and grown by about 6 times since our foundation.
This role offers a platform for growth and progression, we are keen to talk with people who have a desire to progress to CTO further down the line.
What you’ll be doing as our Engineering Lead
In this role you’ll be leading our engineering and product teams (currently 8 people), taking responsibility for Do Nation's pledge platform. You'll hire and manage developers, designers and product and project professionals whilst driving our product vision and strategy and help us develop and strengthen our approach to engineering org-wide.
You’ll hire, coach and develop a diverse and inclusive team of Do Nationers, drive the strategy and vision for our product, and together with Hermione (our CEO) and our Lead Designer and Product Manager, develop and deliver our product roadmap.
You'll work collaboratively with your team and the wider Do Nation team to shape how our tech team operates - you'll help develop our technical practices, embed Sprint and Agile methodologies firmly within the team, lead on our technical documentation process, and more!
Importantly you’ll ensure that Do Nation remains an industry leader, delivering a truly scalable, robust platform that enterprises, SMEs, and individuals alike trust and love to use.
What experience you’ll need to apply
You'll work at a senior level scaling engineering and product teams, ideally with responsibility for B2B SaaS products/production-grade web applications.
You have built or are committed to building diverse and inclusive teams, fostering a collaborative environment that is empowering, supportive and challenging.
You’ll help your people do their best work.
Initially, you will have the curiosity and deep background in product and technology that means you're not afraid to get your hands dirty, coding and working with the team to improve working methodologies and coding efficiencies.
You’ll have a track record of managing remote teams that successfully ship high quality products with refined user experiences.
Hands-on knowledge of Django & React.
You'll have a passion for climate action and will be excited by and aligned with our mission of making sustainable living mainstream.

This role offers a competitive salary of between £70,000-£90,000 (DOE) + benefits which include;
31 days holiday (+1 day for each year worked with us).
