    Commercial Manager

The company helps organisations take responsibility for their climate impact by financing, developing, and managing carbon reduction projects across the world.   What you’ll be doing You will work closely with an experienced project development and Portfolio Management team, leading the origination and screening of NBS project development opportunities in which you will work with reputable local organisations in project design and implementation. You will lead on commercial due diligence, working closely with technical specialists on technical aspects. Working with client-facing colleagues you will develop commercial propositions that meet the needs of both projects and clients and negotiate commercial agreements with project counterparties.   What experience you’ll need to apply Track record in originating, structuring, negotiating, and managing commercial agreements, ideally with private and not-for-profit counterparties, power systems design and system analysis. Understanding of the voluntary carbon market. Understanding of the key principles of the voluntary carbon standards such as VCS/CCB and Gold Standard. Working with local implementation partners such as NGOs and private companies, with an understanding of the on-the-ground challenges, particularly in developing markets. The company helps organisations take responsibility for their climate impact by financing, developing, and managing carbon reduction projects across the world.   What you’ll be doing The role is focused on carbon project development of Nature Based Solutions (NBS) projects internationally under-recognised voluntary carbon standards. NBS is an increasingly important part of the business and the client is expanding their technical project development capability as client demand for NBS projects grows. You will work closely with experienced NBS Commercial Managers and Portfolio Management colleagues, supporting the origination and screening of project development opportunities. You will lead the due diligence of projects (from early development through to post-issuance stages) and lead on Carbon Asset Development through to validation, verification, and ultimately the issuance of high integrity carbon credits from international projects with credible partners.   What experience you’ll need to apply NBS project development or related roles. Preparing Project Design Documents for VCS/CCB, Gold Standard, and potentially other recognised standards, through to validation, monitoring, and verification. Knowledgeable with key elements of the carbon development process such as baselining, field data collection and analysis, GIS, calculation of carbon benefits, forest and biomass inventories, biodiversity mapping, and community engagement. Working with local partners, with an understanding of the on-the-ground challenges and realities of project and carbon delivery. What you’ll be doing as our Full-Stack Developer Reporting into the Head of Tech and working closely with the other developers, you will have strong Agile/Scrum experience and help realise the Neighbourly vision through development of the product strategy to build an intuitive, secure and engaging site, ensuring flexibility, software scalability, and ease of use in a localised manner. You’ll help Neighbourly.com grow its feature set by using your full-stack development skills and use your skills to refactor existing C# code or write new functionality stretching from efficient Linq using Entity Framework Core up to REST endpoints using ASP.NET. You’ll also help/own the process of migrating to .Net Core. What experience you’ll need to apply Extensive commercial knowledge of software development in Microsoft .NET technologies (C# and ASP.NET). You’ve previously held a full stack development role, have a passion for quality code, with an emphasis on scalability and performance. Confident with SQL Server backend and Entity Framework (6 or Core). Used Microsoft Azure services like Blob storage, Azure SQL DB, Media Services, Functions, Azure Message Bus, WebJobs, Azure (Redis) Cache. Have working knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps stack (or any SDLC management tool). Have some experience with TypeScript and front-end development. Some experience in working with MongoDB will be beneficial. Working knowledge of Vue.js and some past experience with KnockoutJS. What next? A good understanding of corporate procurement, supply chain, able to speak with senior decision-makers and ultimately think creatively using your skills and knowledge to help build a new, innovative business model.    What experience you’ll need to apply IT supply chains (Public procurement frameworks, OEMs, National and international distributors, ITADs, etc) A complete understanding of the full value chain and refurbishment process.
