We’re looking for a Junior Designer with both graphic and motion design experience to join an in-house comms team based in Devizes. This is a brand-new role to grow in to, with great opportunity across the wider business.What you’ll be doingJoining this growing housing development group, you’ll be reporting directly to the in-house Senior Brand Partner, working alongside an established team of designers who collectively support an award-winning comms team.This is a varied role working across multiple channels; we’re talking anything from print brochures and annual reports to online video content for web and social. With the growing need for engaging motion graphics content for online campaigns, you’ll need experience using After Effects and Premier Pro to design motion graphics in a commercial setting.The business has offices in both Devizes and Andover, so this role will call for travel between the two regularly, so you’ll need a full driving license and your own mode of transport for this one.Ideally, you’ve some commercial experience under your belt in a similar role, but we’re also open to hear from graduates if you’ve completed a design internship as part of your studies.It’s essential you’re confident with all four Adobe packages – After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.What experience you’ll need to apply At least some commercial experience in a design role (internship or paid). A portfolio of integrated marketing designs, including some moving image. Solid understanding of Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) Confident using After Effects and Premier Pro, with some motion work produced in a commercial setting. Knowledge of print processes, and experience taking designs through to artwork.  Ability to juggle several projects at once. Own driving license and mode of transport essential. They’re now looking for a Mid-Weight Digital Designer to join their team and better their digital offering. What you’ll be doing This role will report into the Head of Digital Design, Creative Director and wider executive team. You’ll collaborate with the wider studio team to better the agencies already impressive digital design offering by creating some great work! The briefs will be challenging - you could be working on anything from creating the visuals for a complex website or web app from wireframing to execution through to designing banners and emails. Using your knowledge of UX principles, you'll ensure usability is at the heart of your digital designs. You'll generate innovative, commercially-sound concepts and create work that demonstrates real flair. Due to the way the digital team works, you’ll ideally have some experience producing full web builds with an understanding of the Atomic Design Process. What experience you’ll need to apply You'll need at least a couple of years agency experience in a design role. A portfolio that showcases your digital design abilities with examples of websites and web assets you've designed. Skills with the usual tools in the Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Some experience with a prototyping tool like Axure, UXPin, InVision or Sketch. You'll have worked in an environment that uses a pattern/component/asset library. Ideally some knowledge of the atomic design process. Experience in HTML5 desirable, but some experience working alongside developers essential. What experience you’ll need You will be confident with JavaScript. Ideally at some point you will have worked with Python (with Django/Flask, but not a deal breaker. You will be a polyglot developer and able to switch between languages, pick up others and also introduce any you might think are suitable. What you’ll be doing You will be joining a very talented team of developers in Bath working on a world class AI integrated mobile application. Your day to day will be following architectural guidelines and developing clean code as well as getting involved with other parts of the system, such as the database, and cloud. It is important you follow development processes, commit code to branches and ensure regression tests & quality controls are applied (with CI/CD framework). Every week you will contribute to Scrum meetings, including sprint planning, sprint review and daily stand-ups ensuring timely delivery and accurate estimates. If there are languages you aren’t so familiar with then you will be given resources to learn, it’s up to you to decide when you up-skill yourself (other than learning from others on the job). If you have worked with languages that you feel could benefit their tech stack then you will be encouraged to suggest new ones/frameworks/methods, they like other people’s input and your ideas will be taken seriously.    What you’ll get in return for your talents The salary on offer ranges between £40K-£55K depending on experience.
