Exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team of a dynamic business.
Unique and forward-thinking eCommerce consultancy.
Impressive range of lifestyle brand partners.
This eCommerce consultancy is disrupting the digital scene in Bristol and beyond with a unique way of partnering with brands, acting as a genuine extension of their partner's in-house team. For an eCommerce Merchandiser, this provides the best of both worlds in working on a variety of lifestyle brands, but with greater control of outcomes and strategy. This is a significant role within the business, so your responsibilities will extend to the wider commercial goals of the consultancy, the perfect opportunity for someone looking to progress their career and step into a leadership role.
What you’ll be doing
As a key part of the senior leadership team, you’ll work closely with the MD, Operations Manager and Digital Acquisition Manager to manage budgets and plan the eCommerce site strategies for a range of exciting brands. In addition to this, you’ll work in tandem with the in-house buyer on the buying of products for each season, managing the day to day trading.
Your focus will be to ensure the online customer journey is optimised effectively through product merchandising, alongside delivering against existing budgets and getting involved in setting future expectations based on the success of each brand. Yes, you’ll be focused on improving eCommerce performance, but driving wider commercial strategy too - an exciting step for an experienced eCommerce Merchandiser looing to gain more autonomy.
You’ll manage a team of Assistant Merchandisers dedicated to each brand the consultancy is partnered with – it’ll be up to you to coach and develop each team member and oversee day to day progress, running daily stand up meetings to outline strategy and targets. You’ll also run weekly trading meetings, travel to meet partner brands on-site and offsite (occasionally internationally) and oversee warehouse performance.
It’s expected that you’ll be the go-to person to understand where each website (and the wider business) is tracking against revenue and targets at any given time, so ongoing maintenance and evolution of reporting systems in order to track performance is key.
The brands you will work with are genuinely exciting propositions with strong and unique brand stories to take to market - most are very well established with very high turnovers. Ultimately, this role is a combination of tactical delivery, tenacious observation of how product impacts on site performance, commercial vision and entrepreneurial opportunity.
