    UX Designer

    — Green Technology

    Location:
    Wiltshire / WFH
    Type:
    Salary:
    Upto £52k
Join a sustainable company that’s values driven and an innovator in it’s field. Enjoy flexible and remote working where required. Bonus, pension matched up to 7.5%, travel allowance and more. This is the opportunity for a UX Designer to join a business that is determined to transform the energy industry for the better and has a long history of creating and investing in green energy solutions. With over 20 years in the industry, it was the first of its kind in the UK and a business that is purpose driven from head to toe. What you’ll be doing You’ll be joining a newly formed product team that will be the hub for product and user centred design thinking for the brand. Working closely with a Head of Product, several PO’s and a UI Designer you will champion the voice of the customer and help uplift the quality and usability for a range of digital services from onboarding, account management, payments, customer services and greenfield product areas in the future. Overall, the design maturity of the business is fairly low so this would suit someone that’s up for helping to shape something and doesn’t need strong hands on UX leadership from another senior or lead UX. You’ll have some upfront research to work with and a fantastic UI designer and product team to collaborate with but UX decisions and direction will be down to you. The brand has a long history in the business and good digital literacy overall but there’s the chance to have a big impact on things from day one. Skills wise this would suit someone who’s experience, and interest is in research and low fidelity design / prototyping rather than highly polished UI. UI skills won’t be sniffed at though as very useful to have when needed, it just won’t be your focus day to day and not a prerequisite. The team are quite open minded on level. You’ll need to come with commercial experience and be up for helping shape things. You’ll have a knowledgeable Product Manager as a mentor and experienced team around you but you will be the voice of UX, so if you’re less experienced you’ll need to be a bit of a self-starter.   What experience you’ll need   Previous experience in a UX role. Whether you call yourself a UX/UI designer, an Experience Designer, a UX consultant (or any other number of titles!) you’ll be passionate about qualitative research, prototyping and testing your work with users. Comfortable being the only UXer to begin with (though this might grow). Comfortable planning, running and synthesising your own research. Using whatever tools you’re comfortable with to create wireframes and low to mid fidelity prototypes.   Great communication skills. A portfolio that showcases relevant projects with how you’ve helped to improve digital products or services. UI design experience beneficial but not required. What you’ll get in return You’ll enjoy working for a purpose and value driven team. Flexible working with a hybrid office / wfh model most likely. A green travel allowance (for getting to the office by sustainable forms of transport), a company bonus, pension matched up to 7.5% and more.   What’s next Apply with an up to date CV supporting work to be considered.
