You’ll be joining Do Nation at a time of high growth having already doubled the team over the last 12 months and grown by about 6 times since our foundation. This role offers a platform for growth and progression, we are keen to talk with people who have a desire to progress to CTO further down the line. What you’ll be doing as our Engineering Lead In this role you’ll be leading our engineering and product teams (currently 8 people), taking responsibility for Do Nation's pledge platform. You'll hire and manage developers, designers and product and project professionals whilst driving our product vision and strategy and help us develop and strengthen our approach to engineering org-wide. You’ll hire, coach and develop a diverse and inclusive team of Do Nationers, drive the strategy and vision for our product, and together with Hermione (our CEO) and our Lead Designer and Product Manager, develop and deliver our product roadmap. You'll work collaboratively with your team and the wider Do Nation team to shape how our tech team operates - you'll help develop our technical practices, embed Sprint and Agile methodologies firmly within the team, lead on our technical documentation process, and more! Importantly you’ll ensure that Do Nation remains an industry leader, delivering a truly scalable, robust platform that enterprises, SMEs, and individuals alike trust and love to use. What experience you’ll need to apply You'll work at a senior level scaling engineering and product teams, ideally with responsibility for B2B SaaS products/production-grade web applications. You have built or are committed to building diverse and inclusive teams, fostering a collaborative environment that is empowering, supportive and challenging. You’ll help your people do their best work. Initially, you will have the curiosity and deep background in product and technology that means you're not afraid to get your hands dirty, coding and working with the team to improve working methodologies and coding efficiencies. You’ll have a track record of managing remote teams that successfully ship high quality products with refined user experiences. Hands-on knowledge of Django & React (React desirable) You'll have a passion for climate action and will be excited by and aligned with our mission of making sustainable living mainstream.     Global Engineering leader with a strong order book Varied NPI based work – low/medium volume Full lifecycle design on a variety of products This is an opportunity to join a leader within their field working on the design of variety of Electro-mechanical and cooling systems utilised in both the Aircraft, Vehicle and Helicopter domains. In line with growth the are looking for proven Mechanical Design Engineer with good Autodesk Inventor and Geometric tolerancing to join the team, to work on the full product development lifecycle of new and existing products and systems.What you’ll be doing:Design of low to medium volume electro-mechanical devices and large-scale cooling systems, both existing and new.Involved with major development contracts, bids/proposals, R&D activities, and legacy production support.Produce designs that meet customer specifications through design verification and full lifecycle development within a gated review environment. What experience you’ll need to apply? Ideally Aerospace or regulated industry experience working on electro-mechanical or mechanisms design Strong Autodesk Inventor skills covering 3D design or components and assembly models. Good understanding of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) AS9001 and or BS8888 standards would be highly desirable. Strong team player used to working closely with multi-disciplined teams. In line with growth the are looking for someone with good Thermal Systems Engineering and Design skills, to work on the full product development lifecycle of new and existing products and systems.What you’ll be doing: Be involved with all stages of the product development cycle from requirements, bids/proposals, R&D, verification, and validation. Therma systems design and modelling working alongside a gate review system for NPI. Detailed design and analysis of a range of cooling systems from passive and active cooling, fans, and vapour compression cycle. What experience you’ll need to apply? Thermal Engineering experience with good knowledge of cooling and calculations using simulation with tools e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS, Simscale or similar. Cooling systems experience, this can be from any form of cooling such as heat exchangers, vapour cycle, vapour compression, refrigeration. General systems engineering ideally across the full product lifecycle, including requirements, proposals, verification, and validation. You will need to be an accomplished engineer so that you can estimate and cost projects for clients and review manufacture documents for all electrical components.   What experience you’ll need to apply Degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering, Energy storage systems. AutoCAD Electrical or EPlan & MATLAB/Simulink. AC systems upto 33kV. DC systems upto 1.5kV. Due to the nature of the projects, you must have great knowledge of fatigue stress analysis of metallic dynamic components and the production of reports.   What experience you’ll need to apply Degree-qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline (Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical. An understanding of material behavior, crack propagation, contact, thermomechanical fatigue, and statistics. Finite Element Analysis principle. Rotating machinery. Rotodynamic analysis & fatigue analysis.   What you’ll get in return for your experience  A salary up to £60k, but we could be flexible for the right candidate.
