A public sector software delivery specialist recently established themselves in Bristol and are looking for a Lead Engineer with functional programming expertise to join their team. What skills you’ll need Fluency in Java/JVM with proven experience using functional techniques (Scala, Clojure, Kotlin). Experience with API development, microservice architecture & databases. Comfortable with TDD/BDD approach. You’ll have experience managing and motivating others, and be able to pinpoint individuals’ strengths in order to produce results.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of people at all levels in a personable and confident way. Solutions orientated approach to problem-solving. Strong communication skills, ability to manage stakeholders at all levels and work with cross-functional teams.  Financial Services experience would be desirable, but not a deal breaker.
