My client has aspirations of being the world’s leading Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) infrastructure provider. The industry is estimated to reach US$115 billion annually by 2035 with ground infrastructure being a critical enabler. No other infrastructure manufacturer will give you the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s leading electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufacturers. They are looking for a Software Engineer to join the CTO & Tech Lead and help us not only build a world-leading product but a world leading organisation. They are a small, highly capable and motivated team. You won’t be stuck behind a desk all day coding. You will have the opportunity to support our sites and partners all around the world by building highly-available & secure API integration's. What you'll be doing: Be responsible for the development of some of the core software platforms across the drone services business. Be responsible for translating customer requirements to a software solution architecture and managing the execution on the design together with our software development partners. You will work closely with your colleagues in their IT team to streamline solutions across the business and leverage our joint IT infrastructure. What experience you'll need to apply:   Azure Functions, Azure App Service, Azure IOT Hub - an ability to develop solutions in a cloud environment is important. Micro-services development in Python and Go. Because our services integrate systems across a global supply chain, building scalable and secure REST & gRPC APIs is critical. Middleware technologies including MQTT and AMQP are also hot on their radar! We will be generating an enormous amount of product data so technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Apache HBase, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, SQL/No SQL operational databases are critical. Their products are built to help businesses not only create an immersive and inspiring digital workplace but also to reinforce their unique cultures. They have partnered with leading brands such as Fox, AAA, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, DocuSign, EventBrite, Eurostar, Coursera and Splunk. They are looking for an experienced software engineer to join their team in the UK to help build and shape the future of their product. You will be working closely in a cross-functional team with other engineers, product managers and our UI/UX designers. As well as this you will be responsible for owning development projects from start to completion; this includes helping plan features, build services and deploy infrastructure. What you'll be doing: You will work with a talented cross-functional team to develop new user-facing features using JavaScript specifically React.  Build and maintain microservices running on AWS. Write automated unit tests and end-to-end tests for your code and services. Quality is incredibly important to us and everybody is responsible for it. Participate in agile ceremonies; regularly and sustainably delivering value in two-week sprints. Work closely with their UI engineers to assist with their React SPA. Help influence the overall architecture and direction of the application. What expereince you will need to apply:   You are user focused – They solve their customer’s problems together; everybody has a say in planning, design & execution. 5 years of overall experience with at least 2 years of experience working with React.  You love identifying new technologies, patterns, and techniques and planning out how we can apply them to improve productivity, code quality and user experience. Affinity for profiling and analysing code to identify areas for improvement. You understand modern frontend concepts such as component libraries, modular CSS and bundlers. Good understanding of CI/CD, unit testing, and automated end-to-end testing using a framework like Cypress. Strong knowledge and understanding of functional programming patterns. Excited by working in a fast-paced startup environment. A deep understanding of the challenges facing automated software testing Exposure to agile / scrum methodologies. You’re comfortable writing JavaScript or another programming language. All our automation is written in Javascript or TypeScript. You understand accessibility standards and laws and how they can impact testing.
