    IT Support Engineer

One of Bristol’s most loved and award-winning digital specialists is looking for a both technical and creative IT Support Engineer to join their super-talented team. With a variety of responsibilities including desktop and server support, network support, hardware builds and web develoment this is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen your technical skills in a creative space, with one of the best in the business. What skills you'll be needing Experience in an IT Support role. Windows (Windows 7, 10 and server 2008 onwards, Linux (CentOS/Red hat) and MAC System administration experience desired. Hands on experience of PC software and hardware builds. Ideally experience of Active Directory administration and Group Policies. TCP/IP, DHCP, SSH, LAMP stack and SMB configuration. Knowledge of back-up procedures and recovery protocols. Coding experience with either of Python or PHP. Exposure to database systems such as MySQL. What you'll be doing Your responsibilities will include ensuring the studio technical infrastructure is maintained to the high standard required for the smooth running of productions (including production critical in-house digital image transcoding pipeline). You’ll be working with coders, editorial staff and other users on the development and running of those systems. As well as monitoring system usage (storage/disk space, processing power, etc), you’ll also need to ensure the daily backup and security of data is maintained. You’ll be developing and maintaining full documentation for all Studio, Editorial and VFX computer systems as well as being able to openly exchange ideas, techniques and procedures to enhance the creative process. Support/troubleshoot any routine problems, software and hardware based as well as being able to oversee installation, maintenance and upgrading of hardware and software (including video projection systems). They invisage this role to roughy 80% support and 20% coding/development. If you have commercial or non commercial web development skills, they'd be very keen to hear from you. A small but mighty Bath based digital agency is looking for a talented Senior Helpdesk Analyst (Web) to provide top class support to their clients and partners across charity, film and ecommerce sectors. You will be building strong relationships internally and externally helping to create an outstanding support provision in a down-to-earth and passionate business with a fantastic reputation. What skills you'll need An understanding of how websites are built and an idea of where issues might arise. A pro-active and positive approach with client-facing experience in a team environment. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Highly developed problem solving abilities and able to think on your feet. Able to work calmly in liaison with a technical team, acting as a conduit between web developers and non-technical customers. A solid understanding of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager would be a real bonus (not essential). What you'll be doing As Web Support Lead you’ll help to maintain the integrity of some fantastic, award-winning websites for a wide range of interesting clients.  Your role will be to provide first line support, managing telephone and email requests, provide analysis and solutions where possible via a ticketing system diagnosing support issues working with the technical team.  Over time you’ll become really clued up on the company content management systems such as WordPress, Craft and also the Shopify suite.  You’ll communicate timing estimates from the development team back to the client and schedule in maintenance tasks as well as provide low-level training when required.  Within the role you will be able to help them improve processes adding real value to the business as a whole, as well as playing a part in user-acceptance testing, helping to develop specifications and work closely with the project management team –as you can tell, this is a role with real variety!
