    Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Outstanding team, collaboration, key development & progression opportunities.A FTSE 250 business with new offices in the heart of Bristol, are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to report into the Head of Enterprise Systems. There is a team of 4 currently with good scope to grow; they're looking for a self-starter with good methodology knowledge, a willingness to pick up new tech and a driven mentality to their work.  What skills you'll need  Extensive background in an infrastructure engineering role, with proven expertise across networking (CCNA certification preferred). Significant design & support experience across at least 2 of the following: Microsoft, Cisco, Redhat, VMware, Juniper, Oracle, Datacore. A vocational certification in any of the above would be advantageous. Excellent understanding of firewalls, routing, disaster recovery & security. Any understanding of Linux would be highly beneficial. Self-starting, proven project delivery experience with a keen willingness to learn new infrastructure technologies. A high calibre of methodology knowledge (ITIL), approach assessment and a driven mentality. What youll be doing Working alongside 3 other engineers and reporting into the Infrastructure Manager, you will take responsibility for technical authority and support across the business infrastructure. Your day will start with updating tickets and dealing with any urgent outstanding requests. Following this will be new and continued project work throughout the day, with a focus on networking, disaster recovery and security. You will champion hosting/operations, backups, capacity/availability management and continuity planning, ensuring the successful delivery of all infrastructure projects and quickly adapting to new infrastructure patterns/technology.     Application Support Analyst

They work predominately with blue-chip and public sector organisations across a broad variety of markets including marine, environment and space, meaning youll be supporting customers in some seriously exciting sectors and will also have the opportunity to go out on client site and provide support first hand. This is a hands-on role where you will be developing application fixes and upgrades as well as providing technical support.  What skills you'll need Previous experience in an application support role. An understanding of application development. Basic .NET coding abilities, i.e. bug fixes, simple code changes etc would be beneficial.  Experience of SQL Server & SQL scripting.  Knowledge of build management and release processes. Good working knowledge of Unix/Linux would be a bonus. Exposure to Cloud computing such as AWS or Azure is desirable but not essential. What you'll be doingSat within the Enterprise Solutions and Defence Division you will be responsible for providing technical support to business customers. You will work closely the service delivery and project teams to provide 2nd & 3rd line support such as application fixes and workarounds as well as getting involved with ad-hoc development work as a result of customer change requests. You'll be the go-to technical expert for customers, helping them to understand complex technical issues; therefore a good understanding of application development is key. Further, you will look after system builds and releases, supporting database and application upgrades on externally hosted environments and reporting software issues to relevant 3rd parties.  You will be based out of their Chippenham office with some travel to customer sites across the South West to provide onsite consultation and support. You will also be expected to be available for the occasional scheduled out of hours evening and weekend work for which you'll receive overtime compensation. Following ITIL guidelines you will provide 2nd line support to the internal customer community via a Service Desk arrangement. Further, you'll be responsible for managing the procurement of hardware and new technologies, as well as mentoring more junior members of the team, continuously aiming to improve overall productivity and effectiveness across the department.
