A specialist financial service institution is looking for a Head of Data Engineering & Architecture to scale the data platform and the data platform team.What you'll be doingAs the Head of Data Engineering, you will build and manage a team of talented cloud data engineers to enhance the data platform as part of the new data strategy. There are a number of sources that need to be integrated into the platform which you require you to lead on the architecture of said sources.Data governance will be the backbone of the platform so that effective data science and business intelligence activities can be carried out. You will lead from the data and insight analytics aspect. Most importantly, this role is for a product lead with a commercial head on their shoulders and how you can translate this into action. You’ll ideally be coming from an insights or digital background so you can hit the ground running and be able to show your experience. You’ll be coming in to look at the future. You’ll be working across their main offering alongside their other companies to consolidate and create a central point of information. You’ll be bringing the journey together, assisting from a data perspective when putting new platforms together alongside defining what data needs to be captured, all data points around their new app, and how this would be visualised.
